Dame and Trent are 12 of 24 the rest of the team is 6 of 22. Someone else needs to step up. Plus 5 assists on the first 5 baskets 5 the rest of the half.
Trent has 10 pts....Kanter has 9pts.....Marc Gasol kept to 2 pts and 2 rebounds...I'll take that as stepping up...biggest plus....Kanter only has 1 foul and he's our only center...Zach would've fouled out already

We haven’t played well outside of the first five minutes, yet we still lead. If we can even remotely pull things together, we’ll win. That’s a big “if” though.

Why shouldn’t it? His foot came down under where Dames foot landed.

Let me be on record that I hated seeing Dame come down like that.

I didn't feel the defender put his foot there in a "reckless" act. Foul, yes. Flagrant, no.

That all state commercial (with the Pet Shop Boys song) is really getting on my nerves. I like the song, but their harmony is horrrrrrrrrible. Or as Charles Barkley would say, Turrrrrrible.

Is that how the rule reads? I’ve seen it called before when it wasn’t reckless. In fact the shooter jumped into what looked like the defender’s zone.

Ooh, good. the Kanter shot counted.

Lots of dumb passes...again.

Ya notice once a game Dame does that dumb ass cross court pass that’s always picked off. Literally every time

Details and procedure[edit]
The Zaza Rule allows for referees to call flagrant or technical fouls on reckless defensive closeouts. After referees call a foul, they now possess the ability to determine if the defender's foot placement was reckless, allowing for an upgrade to flagrant, or to technical if there was no intent to injure determined.[2]

Ok. His foot placement was reckless. It was in Dame’s natural landing zone. I would not interpret “reckless” there as having anything to do with intent. If it can easily cause injury then it’s reckless. It caused injury. Technical = intent implies flagrant needs no intent.

Kanter’s defense is less effective than a slight momentary breeze

I see what you're saying, but I don't agree... neither did the refs after reviewing it.

Continue with the stupid passes. That's a quick way to throw away a win.

How are you guys feeling? Are we going to win this game or not?

Because they are told over and over to “push the ball” when they should be told to “take care of the ball, and push it only if it’s there”.

I hope so, but I'm having a hard time finding confidence. Kanter is such a liability when he's in, but RoCo or Melo at center won't be good either. Need the supporting cast to finish on offense because the Lakers are doing everything in their power to make someone else beat them.

Watching this makes me even more amazed our record is as good as it is.

I don't see Portland pulling this one out given the crap iso offense. The bench isn't exactly doing much. Kanter is clearly not himself tonite either.

We might but I don’t feel good at all about this game. Lakers are playing terrible and it’s tie.
