Lakers were 5pt favorites for a reason.

Having LeBron James does that for you.

Still has nothing to do with what I said.

The personnel on the floor sans LeBron and Lillard, the Blazers are far superior. And, it's not even close.

Possibly. Both would be lottery teams for sure. Just comparing marginal players at that point.

Not even close? I want some of what you're smokin

I don’t agree with that at all. Take away LeBron and Dame and I think the supporting cast is about equal. Defense matters.

Harrell was considered unplayable on defense. Ie, Kanter. We have Covington and Jones. It's not very close. Caruso and Horton-Tucker wouldn't make our rotation.

Why do i grow old with terry stotts? Why is he not fired. How how how. Every year dead last in assists. The guy cant coach. If i was the coach i would say “ i don’t know shit about tactics X and Os Dame save me just do whatever you can . The offense is such shit its unbelievable. The notion of our GM not seeing this is staggering. Terry Stotts you sorry sack of shit. Almost 10 years of stotts

To be fair most people were complimentary of the trade at the time, RoCo has just been a major disappointment.

People were complimentary of it at the time, IMO, because they were HOPING it was the spark of genius that was going to cure our ills. I think a lot of those same people, if they were being honest with themselves, knew it was too much to give up for a role player when the Blazers weren't a role player away from competing, and, arguably, not even a role player that really fit our needs as much as he seemed to on the surface.

Acquiring Covington, though, wasn't a bad move. Acquiring him for three assets -- one of which is going to be a mid-first-round pick in a very strong draft -- is unconsciounable.

I'm almost at a point that, despite where we are in the standings, that I'd say have Dame come down with a phantom injury, tank the rest of this season, keep the 2021 draft pick and get serious about building a team around Dame or just throwing in the towel completely and starting from scratch.

And I realize how extreme and unrealistic that sounds. But here's how I see it: We just got beaten -- toyed with, if we want to be honest -- by a Laker team that doesn't have AD and lost four in a row. You think we're going to be beating them, the Clippers or the Jazz in the playoffs, even with Nurk and CJ back? Is it going to be in any better position to compete next year with no real resources to acquire someone that can make us better and no first-round pick?

I thought a few weeks ago we had a chance. I took heat here for being overly optimistic about how this team would be in the playoffs if healthy. I deserve the heat. These guys fooled me.

There's the thing: It wasn't that we lost tonight. It was that we lost to the Wizards by playing dumb and we lost tonight by showing no guts. It was like the Lakers were playing Dame and 10 school children. Melo smiling as the Lakers are going to the foul line to go up 13? Give me a break. Yeah Melo, Olshey's going to protect your legacy ... what legacy is that exactly? Oh yeah, the one about being a guy who never understood this was a team game and whose teams perpetually underachieved. Some legacy.

Trent > Caruso not close
Covington, Jones > Kuzma, Morris
Kanter = Harrell

Finish the rest.
Trent couldn't tie Caruso's shoes tonight....he got one rebound at the end of the game...shot 16% from deep in the first half...I quit checking in the second half...had turnovers...Trent dug us our first hole in the game bricking about 5 jumpers in a row

This losing streak isn’t a surprise. We called it a mile away. And we very well might not get a win until Sac.

In what world did Caruso have a better game?

I don't drink during games.

Butt ugly second half tonight.....I'm getting really sick of the 3 pt clank fest...it's like a ring toss at the county fair but you don't win a prize!

I feel you man, it's painful when we're scoring under 1 point per attempt from deep. Equally as brutal when we're scoring under 1 point per attempt from inside the key. Both were the case tonight.

Lebron hacked Enes all night and got called for his first foul at the end of the game...Enes takes a beating in the paint...I'd miss layups if Lebron was hacking my arms all night and holding me under the basket

We blew this game tonight when we had a 9-point lead in the first half and got cute. Guys are dribbling down the shot clock. Guys like Hood are trying to break down LeBron 1-on-1 and settling for contested 3s. Ant's getting loose with the basketball around Caruso, who isn't a good player but who plays hard. Kanter starts playing weak, almost intimidated shooting within 3 feet of the hoop. DJJ isn't dunking or even trying to dunk, he's laying the ball up softly and LeBron's swatting it into the 8th row.

And how many games have we seen this? We get a lead and everyone thinks it's their freaking opportunity to go for theirs. Then we need to turn it back on and I'm sorry, but without CJ and Nurk we don't have the offensive firepower to do that.

I'm sad. I'm angry.

I don't drink at all....Trent had 1 rebound I think..see how many Caruso had....Trent shot like cold dogshit most of the game

Numbers are pretty comparable. The difference is negligible.

I don't think the Lakers will be trading Harrell for Mario Hezonja. That's what it took to get Kanter.

Those two aren't anywhere near each other in terms of value and I support Kanter more than most around here.

Second game in a row that Little has provided nothing off the Bench. The entire Bench has disappeared, but a lot of people on here wanted Little to Start and showing he is not ready for that. This team needs a Schoeder or someone who can play off the Bench.

Good thing basketball isn't only about rebounding.

Ask LeBron if he'd trade Caruso for Trent.

Pretty idiotic argument. One guy is barely a rotation player in the league. The other guy is one of the young up and coming talents who is looking at a hundred million dollar contract.

People would laugh at you if you compared the two in public.

This losing streak wasn't a surprise. That it started with the Wizards game and then they way we crapped the bed against the Suns, that's what's inexcusable.
