• Friday marks the first of four matchups between the Trail Blazers and Spurs
in 2016-17.

• San Antonio won all three of its games against Portland last season, marking the first series sweep from either side since the Trail Blazers went 3-0 vs. the Spurs in 2009-10.

• The Trail Blazers are 11-3 in their past 14 home games against the Spurs dating back to the 2008-09 season. During that same timespan, Portland is 17-11 overall vs. San Antonio (6-8 on road).

• San Antonio limited Portland to 97.0 points per game in three contests last season. That represents Portland’s fourth-lowest scoring average against all NBA teams in 2015-16 (third among Western Conference opponents).

• The Trail Blazers were held to 80 points in two of their three contests against the Spurs last season.

• Damian Lillard averaged a team-high 24.0 points and 7.0 assists in three games against the Spurs last season (20+ pts in all three games). Lillard has scored at least 20 points in 13 of his 14 career games vs. San Antonio.

• CJ McCollum scored 26 points on 10-of-20 shooting (4-6 3-PT) in his most recent matchup with San Antonio on March 17, 2016, marking his highest scoring total in nine career games against the Spurs. McCollum scored 20+ points in two of his three games against San Antonio last season (20.7 ppg).

• TEAM RANKS: The Trail Blazers rank sixth in the NBA in scoring at 109.4 points per game, while the Spurs are holding opponents to 97.9 ppg (fourth lowest scoring average in NBA). San Antonio has held its opponent under 100 points in five of its past 10 games.

• TEAM RANKS: Both San Antonio (2nd-.404) and Portland (9th-.359) are ranked in the top-10 in the NBA in 3-point field goal percentage. The Spurs are limiting their opponents to a .331 shooting percentage from beyond the arc (2nd lowest % in league).

• CONNECTION: Spurs forward LaMarcus Aldridge played his first nine NBA seasons with Portland (2006-2015), averaging 19.4 points and 8.4 rebounds in 648 games (607 starts).

• CONNECTION: San Antonio guard Patty Mills averaged 5.1 points in two seasons with Portland (2009-11) after being taken 55th overall by the Trail Blazers in the 2009 NBA Draft.

Yay, another heartless ass-whooping.

Spurs are the 2nd night of a back to back. You might see Pop pull a Pop and rest players tonight.

I just want them to play Lamarcus big minutes .....and have the worst game of his career

It's a chance for our guys to copy a good defense...

It is being reported that Gasol, Parker and Mills will sit out this game. WE HAVE A CHANCE!!!!!
Whered you hear that?

And if they do, who is gonna play PG, Murray and Forbes?

It is being reported that Gasol, Parker and Mills will sit out this game. WE HAVE A CHANCE!!!!!

Not really--the Spurs generally play well when they rest players.

The only question I have at this point is how long is it going to take for us to get down 20?

this could be painful but im in. be here to have fun (maybe?) with you all at 7.

I'll be listening to the entirety of the game - like I do with any game I listen/watch. Who knows? I give about a .5% chance, but by god, there's a chance.

(Insert obligatory Dumb and Dumber meme)

Welp, here we are again hoping for a glimpse of last seasons team my friends
