:reading:BLAZERS' OFFICIAL GAME NOTES
• Wednesday marks the third and final regular season matchup between the Trail Blazers and Kings in 2016-17.

• LAST MEETING: Sacramento defeated Portland, 126-121, at the Golden 1 Center on Dec. 20. DeMarcus Cousins scored a season-high 55 points (17-28 FG, 5-8 3-PT), just one shy of his career scoring high (56, 1/25/16 vs. Cha.).

• Sacramento’s win on Dec. 20 snapped a string of seven consecutive losses to the Trail Blazers. Portland is 8-2 in its past 10 contests against the Kings.

• The Trail Blazers have won 13 of their past 15 games against the Kings at the Moda Center (won seven straight).

• CJ McCollum scored a team-high 36 points (13-22 FG) in Sacramento on Dec. 20, and has now scored at least 30 points in three consecutive games against the Kings (32.3 ppg).

• CJ McCollum’s four games of 30+ points against the Kings represents the most games of 30+ points he’s had against any NBA team in his career.

• Mason Plumlee scored a career-high 27 points on 10-of-13 shooting (7-11 FT) in Portland’s most recent game against the Kings on Dec. 20. Plumlee also hauled in 13 rebounds for one of five double-doubles this season.

• Mason Plumlee has averaged 15.7 points (63.0% FG), 9.7 rebound and 5.0 assists over his past three games against Sacramento.

• Damian Lillard dished out a career-high 15 assists against Sacramento on Dec. 20, making him the first Trail Blazer to record at least 15 assists in a game since Andre MIller on Dec. 25, 2010 at Golden State.

• Sacramento’s DeMarcus Cousins has scored at least 30 points in three straight games against the Trail Blazers (39.3 ppg). Cousins has scored at least 30 points in eight of his past 11 contests against Portland.

• CONNECTION: In 29 games for Portland in 2014-15, Kings guard Arron Afflalo contributed 10.6 points on 41.4% shooting.
• CONNECTION: CJ McCollum and Kings center Kosta Koufos both played high school basketball at GlenOak High School in Ohio.

HEAD-TO-HEAD HISTORY:
ALL TIME: Trail Blazers lead, 127-77
IN PORTLAND: Trail Blazers lead, 83-18
AT THE KINGS: Kings lead, 59-447

This is getting real old! This dude is bad luck! At what point do we let The HCP take back over the game thread duties?

I want a new poll:

Who would you start at the Power Forward position to face Cousins?

  • Aminu
  • Davis
  • A bucket of ass sweat
  • Vonleh

A bit early to call this a 'Must Win' but if Portland loses, they fall 4 games in the loss column behind.....the Kings. Let that sink in. :smiley-eek2:

I'd go with Vonleh to defend him, just because he has decent strength and athleticism, but the truth is anybody on this roster is likely to get beaten like a rented mule and rack up the fouls. Ultimately I think they should try to blitz him with a big and a guard and try to force him to pass or disrupt his timing at least part of the time. That's going to leave somebody open, but I'd rather gamble on somebody else beating them, than letting Boogie work one-on-one all night.

I voted Leonard. Because we definitely want to piss Cousins off as early as possible, so he can go HAM on us again.

Yeah...that's more like it.

I wonder who starts at SF. Matt Barnes?

Is it confirmed that Dame is out for this?

so, here's what happens if Leonard starts....

picks up 2 early fouls, get put on the bench
comes back in late 2nd quarter, gets a foul (maybe 2), goes and sits back down
comes back in start of 4th, gets a foul, plays gingerly for 8 min gets another foul and fouls out with 2 min left.....

all while standing at the 3 point line, waiting for someone to pass him the ball.

this is why i cant stand Meyers Leonard.

BOOOOOOO!!!

I live in an alternate universe.

Myers hits his threes and brings DMC out of the paint for CJ to dribble in time after time and DMC has a tantrum in the 3rd and gets ejected and tosses his shirt at Meyers and a scuffle starts and DMC recieves a major fine and a 3 game suspension from the league.

See? When your thinking negative, you just have to be a bit more positive about it. ;)

that's wrong, cause the refs will rescind the ejection.

my prediction, meyers goes 1-6 beyond the arc.

the dude is a 5 year project. its time to let him go.

They cant play that card again. @dviss1 would go apeshit!

And thats my point. We need other teams to start thinking Leonard is a DMC stopper and pay premium for him. Think big my man. This ball game is not the one that matters. Its the head game that matters tonight.
Im rooting for Meyers so I can bid him a farewell and wish him the best elsewhere, so we can make room for a more serviceable contributing big. It doesn't mean we don't want him to play well in the interim.
