The Rangers have lost Fox for a long period of time, Chytil for a long period of time, and Kakko for a long period of time, and even with that sit tied with the most points in the league just about halfway through the season. Every Rangers fan should feel good about how this team has played thus far.

With that said, they have some work to do. If/when they determine Chytil is out for at least the rest of the regular season, I am sure Drury will use his money to add a 3rd line C. If that is still TBD, they have to continue to let it play out as they do not have the cap space accrued yet to go add a good player now if Chytil may come back in the regular season. My opinion is even if he can be back in Feb or March, I sit him until the playoffs and use his cap money elsewhere.

On top of that, it is not easy to make trades now. Teams usually wait until closer to the trade DL, so the market is cold currently. Combine those two things together, and I wouldn't expect a move soon. They'll make moves for sure, but it will have to wait I believe. Good news is Kakko should be back within a few weeks at worst.

One other comment, if the Rangers are going to add a player (or players) of impact, they will have to trade picks. That is how this works. You can say trade Jones or some other mid prospect, but teams dealing off players around the trade DL want high picks. So, get on board with that, or don't expect to get a top player (or players). Either way be patient and Drury will make moves as we get closer to March and the trade market heats up. Good news is we're in a great spot currently.
