IGOR absolutely stole this one but Jesus that defense. Hope IGOR is back in the nets tmo in Pitt

Three of the next four against Pittsburgh. Who makes these schedules?

The Devs look damn good. We won two straight - 4 of 4 points - but we have to play better in our own end and the neutral zone, stop trying to be fancy, get pucks deep, and shoot more. If we don't do those things the Devs series is not going to be a long one.

I think we will play the Canes. Devils are playing great hockey.

It is certainly possible with how well NJ is playing. With that said, the Devs schedule does get a little tougher going forward though. If the Devs beat the Canes Sunday in NJ I think you may be right. If the Canes win they'll be 4 up with a game in hand and will most likely hold them off. That game could be for he Met.

I think I'm rooting for CAR, but it is getting closer given how good NJ has looked.

BTW - for those of you pushing for the Rangers collapse and fall from 3rd, with 17 games left if we play just .500 hockey and get 17 of 34 points, that would put us 24 ahead of Pitt and the NYI.

Pitt would need 24 of 34 points to tie us - 70.5%. The NYI would need 24 of 28 points to tie us - 85.7%. So once again we are very much in the drivers seat when you actually do the math. I maintain the only way we lose 3rd is if the Pens go 6-0 or 6-1 points against us in these 3 games. And if we were to win Sunday in Pitt, I say it is over and we just about lock up 3rd.

One comment on Panarin, I admit he scares the hell out of me for playoff hockey. Everything he does is high risk, East-West. Try to be fancy out of his zone. Fancy long passes through the neutral zone. Doesn't look at the net sometimes, and rarely shoots, instead likes the cross ice risky pass. He scares me in playoff hockey.

Another road win for the Rangers and it was nice to see a glimpse of the old Igor, he was incredible. The problem isn't the defense, it's the giveaways, the Rangers are 2nd in the NHL behind Montreal in that department. Panarin is the leading culprit with Kane and Trocheck but the surprising player to me was Fox at 4th, he has been a turnover machine this year.

To me Fox has taken a couple steps back since his Norris Trophy winning season. He looks slow, tired and inconsistent. He's a great puck mover with great vision but he is a far cry from where he was two years ago.

Yeah, and turnovers in the worst places. In their own zone, in neutral ice, or just at the other teams blue line. To me it stems from the same place, too fancy and pretty. They are ALWAYS trying to make a play, Panarin and Fox especially, and very rarely say hey isn't there live to fight another day, just make the smart/safe play and get it out or get it deep.

It is a fine line with players like that, getting them to play it safe sometimes and fight another day. They are so creative and confident, that is their game, and you cannot take all of that away, you live with some risk for the reward, but a lot of times it is reckless now.

Same convo with Josh Allen in football and his turnovers. Stay aggressive, you need to be you on some level, which is what makes them great, but you also have to be smart and understand what is a good risk, and what is reckless. I feel like we are seeing a lot more low % reckless this year, and we absolutely will get beat round 1 if it doesn't stop.

Can Gallant bring them back a bit on the reckless - we'll see.

Fox just needs to mix in shooting a bit more which will generate broken plays even if he doesn't score. The team needs a little more net traffic too in general.
