Jitters happen, especially to the 2nd youngest team in the NBA in their first playoff experience. To act like the Blazers would handle it like the Lakers is foolish thinking.

Check your unreal expectations.

Unreal expectations? I expect them to play competent basketball, not rely in Game 2 on a GREAT performance by Brandon Roy or in Game 3 a string of 3 pointers by Fernandez that saved our ass.

The team is executing horribly and its shocking people are making excuses and saying that asking for just basic competency as a team offensively is an "unreal expectation". This team is not playing as a team whatsoever. That's just bad.

Now you're complaining about a win in the playoffs and a close loss to the Rockets at home, a game where the Blazers adjusted greatly to and made a serious run.

You're just a unrealistic fan. Your problem.

They are playing like crap! BUT........ I think we are gaining so much experience win or lose that will help in the future! That said, we better step up on Sunday!

No. I'm not unrealistic. See again you are saying its unrealistic for me to think the blazers should be able to play team basketball in the playoffs. That's what they stressed all year, why they were so successful late in the season.

I'm actually watching the game and seeing what is wrong, not just the box score, which you seem to be doing. You are making excuses, brushing the fundamental flaws and "chalking it up for experience". Well, they did not learn...their offense has still been terrible this entire series and its not entirely due to the Rocket's defense.

one being realistic is thinking that Game 4 is a "shoo-in". That we're learning from our mistakes...because we aren't. There is nothing at all to indicate that this team has grown in the post season.

I said you're unrealistic not to expect jitters from a team in their first playoff experience. They happen. To expect the Blazers to perform like the Lakers is foolish.

They should have the jitters out by now. This isn't jitters when they exhibit the same behavior throughout the series. They have fundamental flaws offensively which they do not seem to be correcting.

This team is doing as bad as I could possibly imagine so far.QUOTE]

I could imagine them being down 0-3, but they're not. It'd be nice to see this team play like the Veteran Spurs teams dating back a few years ago, but this they are not. They're a bunch of kids learning as they go. Let's see how they do Sunday.

Everyone needs to LISTEN TO HCP!!! Wisdom flows from him! :)

With as absolutely horrid as the Blazers played they made some good adjustments and had a shot at taking this one. I'm hoping for some corrections and a game 7 victory.

They aren't learning. That's the point.

I'm relieved we did win on Tuesday, because without a playoff win this year would have been really bad.

I hope for them to get their shit together. That's all I ask, because right now they are playing like mark-ass bitches.

We are not learning. If we did learn, we wouldn't have repeated Game 1 in the first half. We wouldn't go 5 minutes before scoring in the 2nd half. This team is doing as bad as I could possibly imagine so far. Deer in the headlights is an appropriate descrip for the Blazers in the Playoffs.

Ummmm... MIXUM? Is that you?

You're right. They are playing like little bitches. If we wanna make it to that game seven, time to step it up. Roy? LMA? Outlaw? Blake? Can you hear me?

Ummmm... MIXUM? Is that you?

oh wait. I'll write what we should

Everything is fine!
Flowers and sunshine!
even if they get run out of the building...good effort!
we don't need to win or even compete in order for this season to be a success! :ohno:

Roy is fine. I can handle his bad game today because he saved our ass last game.

Aldridge REALLY needs to step up. He needs to stop leaving so much space on Scola for that 18 foot jumper. He needs to be offensively agressive, not just chuck shots up.

Blake and Outlaw? I honestly think they're lost causes in this playoff series.

This series comes down to Aldridge stepping his game up because it opens it up for everyone else if he's having a good game. if Aldridge is doing well offensively, we are tough to beat. We are not going to win this game in a "battle of the guards". We need to win this game in the post and in the paint.

First game on the road in a hostile atmosphere can get to you a little bit. It's not some insane thing to happen to a very young team. They're not the Lakers. But like I said, they adjusted in the 2nd half, and that speaks a lot. They almost took one in Houston.

It took them 5 minutes to score their first points in the 2nd half.

Why are you judging the whole 2nd half on the first 5 min of the 2nd half? :dunno:

The Blazers as a team were +8 in the 2nd half. That's what matters.

So you'll just throw that to the side. Like I said, you just seem to look at the net effect of it all, not look for areas of improvement. You seem to just justify your point by "relax, they'll get better". Ignore this streak, ignore that streak...hell, ignore the entire first half.

If they did score within the first 5 minutes..just a few points we would have won this game. Instead you choose to ignore it and come up with an excuse in order to minimalize the signifigance. Games are 48 minutes, and the blazers need to be there the entire 48, not just selected portions.

The first half is the reason why the Blazers lost, not the first 5min of the 2nd half.

Yeah. I realize that. They played very very bad in the first half. The first 5 minutes of the 2nd half was just like the first half though. If they had started their momentum earlier, this would have been a closer game.

Also, there was poor timeout management by McMillian in the second half as he had to correct that random ass taste of the "twin towers".

You have to look at the mistakes in the game, otherwise they will be repeated. You can't just ignore looking at it and be so flippant about the whole thing, otherwise it will happen again.

I never said the Blazers played a flawless game or anything. I just said they adjusted and played much better in the 2nd half, which they did. Do you not agree with any of this? Just because they didn't win the game in the end does not mean they didn't play a lot better in the 2nd half.

And my whole point from the beginning was now that the Blazers got a taste of playing on the road in the playoffs, nothing should surprise them anymore. Playing on the road in the playoffs is a different animal. The Blazers adjusted to it in the 2nd half and now should be better for it in game 4.

Game 4 is a trap game for the Rockets. They have a chance to go up 3-1 at home, but Portland isn't ready to go home. The Blazers see it differently, they win and it's tied 2-2 with two games in Portland to seal the deal.

The blazers, overall, played better in the second half than the first. I would attribute that to Rudy and that short stretch with them attacking the paint with Oden and LMA with the pick and roll. They regressed and made the same mental mistakes at the end of the game, however.

The rockets will essentially have the same plan of attack. They are well coached and have veteran experience. Quite the opposite from the Blazers.

I see it going 7 myself.

Give the Rockets just a little credit here. Not everything is on the Blazers.

The rockets are totally beatable.

They shot excellent, but it was due to poor defense and the blazers just not playing a good game on the other end of the floor.

The rockets are very balanced, but there's no way we should lose when Yao and Artest don't break double figures in scoring and Scola and Battier is their primary offensive threat.

I was talking more about the Rockets defense. They're pretty good, if not very good, at every position defensively.

Blazers weren't really running much of an offense in the first half to begin with. It was one pass...if that, then the player just took the shot whether it was good or not.
