I think the Rangers have 3 issues as I see it:

1. They don't hit players around the net at all. I have seen so many guys just skate around and through stick checks by the Rangers in their zone it is a joke. Hit someone.
2. They have zero scoring from the bottom 6. That is not sustainable, and it has caught up with them. Injuries are the big cause here as Kakko and Chytil being out this long has crushed them (not an excuse as all teams have injuries, but still has had a big impact). Getting Kakko back soon will be very big. As least it raises the talent level in the bottom 6, and it is very much needed.
3. The structure that was their hallmark the first 33 or 34 games has disappeared the past handful of games.

We'll see if they can fix these issues. Kakko back will be a start towards fixing number 2. I think they'll need to add another legit C, and a solid stay at home dman to truly fix all the issues.

Side bar on Goodrow - $3.6M cap hit, has one goal. He will be bought out for sure this summer. That guy has been $2M per overpaid since the second he was signed.
