Apparently, from what I've heard, he had a career year when he first got to Charlotte, but hasn't done much since.
Nah.... His second season was his best there but still only marginally better. And as far as him playing better for another coach that really isn't the case either. Batum had a terrible last season here but his overall numbers in Charlotte really are not much different than his years here in Portland and actually his efficiency is down until the first half of this season.

Nurkic in my opinion started the year a little rough but he’s turned into a monster on both ends of the court. I love when they play through him as it tends to mean more guys get chances to touch the ball.

Yeah, it's been nice to see him step his game up and become a dominant player. Definitely helps going forward. That trade just keeps looking better and better.

It sure does and even the acquiring Curry and Sauce is looking decent!
And, Jake could end up being one of those diamonds in the rough too.
Props to Neil!

I'll give props to Neil if they have some playoff success. Don't get me wrong, I'm loving the recent stretch of basketball, the passings been good, Nurk, Curry, heck even ET's played some good games too. Win a round and be competitive or win in the 2nd round and I'll be quick to say that NO / Stotts did a good job this year.

I'll even give Stotts some credit for the last couple weeks or so the offense has looked so much less stagnant, playing through Nurkic makes the offense go, the trade to get Nurk may have been NO's best move.

I really, really want to see some playoff success though not that, playoff success means "everything" but it's certainly pretty important...

Net rating is a terrible gauge. Some teams are better at winning close games than others. Also, some teams give up when they get down by a lot. Or they simply win by 10 in a game that they couldve played harder and won by 25. Or the other team plays so bad they lose by 40.

I hate when people use net rating to gauge team strength.

Also, our schedule in March is very easy. Doesnt matter that we play a lot of road games. The road/home imbalance doesnt mean much when you have a lot of games left against terrible teams that have little home court advantage.

ok then. You don't like net rating but you like SOS even though SOS doesn't account for home/road balance...and what you're essentially doing here is doubling down on your SOS confidence. Maybe we're both a little guilty of applying some bias to what numbers we like and those we don't

understand that I was just playing around with numbers...I like to do that. I have to say though, whether it's net rating, or MOV or SRS or SOS, I have a hard time seeing how somebody could put so much faith in one while seeming to disregard the rest, especially when one of the things they are disregarding is a team having played 60% of their games at home

I agree about playoff success and Ive said from the beginning of the rebuild (after LA) if they hadn't experience playoff success after 4 years than maybe consider big changes. They are currently at the mid way point of the 4th year and the weighting goes way up going into the 5th year.
Im kind of liking the molding of this team for playoff success as the offs usually become more of a 1/2 court game in many respects and with the super improved Nurkules and front court/overall D. And if you run the O through Nurk more and with the gun slingers we have, it's possible we could move on to the second round.
I always like to expect the unexpected and be ready for it!

Great game.
The HCP and his crew did a great job this time around.View attachment 24241 View attachment 24242

am I the only one who likes images like this, a lot, but who also has no idea at all about how somebody could be 877% more flexible than I am. My knees started to hurt looking at that picture...and my back went out. I guess I'll have to self-medicate for the 37th time this year
