I don't think this 2nd quarter defensive performance by Plumlee on Gortat does much to dispell @Dan Marang's analysis of Mason's defense...
He was a spectator on that Vonleh clip. At least Aminu was trying to crash for a rebound.I don't think this 2nd quarter defensive performance by Plumlee on Gortat does much to dispell @Dan Marang's analysis of Mason's defense...

That good huh?HOLY JESUS THAT LAST DEFENSIVE POSSESSION BY DAME AND CJ. I don't even, I just....wow.

proof that he reads threads here, he's on a mission of fan revengeMeyers Leonard: 10 points, 3 rebounds. 4-6 from field. 2-4 from deep. 10 mins off bench.
Who woke up the Wiz?40 Wizards points in the 2nd
1 bucket was off a Nene assist (not dribble penetration)Why. Almost all of Gortat's points are layins when Plumlee has to leave him to help out on the dribble penetration.

On behalf of those of us who indeed did miss it: Thanks for the vivid play by play. Well done.I mean, did anyone catch that? Dame told CJ to switch onto Wall while he switched onto Beal. CJ realizes at the last minute they're switching while Wall penetrates. Gortat sets a screen and instead of fighting through the screen Dame casually lets Gortat ride him all the way into the paint while leaving Beal wide open. Wall passes to Beal for a WIDE open three.

Not a fan of Tone...can we trade him to Utah?'Tone's attempts to handle the halftime scoreboard recently have been painfully bad. I'm sure it's just something that takes practice, but the discomfort in that spot is palpable.
You know, if anyone does, I bet it would be Meyers.proof that he reads threads here, he's on a mission of fan revenge

I get him following up on some of my tweets, so it wouldn't surprise me.You know, if anyone does, I bet it would be Meyers.
Overdue. Should have done it while his value was high. Not a fan of Tone...can we trade him to Utah?
1 bucket was off a Nene assist (not dribble penetration)
1 bucket off offensive rebound (pass to/from Jared Dudley)
1 in transition where Gortat had both the defensive rebound and the finish.
I think you overstate the dribble penetration.
I don't claim to be all knowing- I only write what I find when it matches what I see. I could go through just the first half clips and find a half dozen times where Plumlee got moved off his spot, pushed out of the way and scored and/or rebounds over.
I think unlike most folks that Plumlee is still a work in progress..his age alone says he's not finished learning the NBA game. He hasn't started that much in his career and seems to be a pretty quick study. Impressed me how he improved his free throws quickly after teams targeted him early on. Gametime was talking about how many times Duncan played Dirk and it was 90 times ...changes the instincts. Plumlee is just getting his feet wet against veteran centers like GortatI think that's his biggest issue on defense.
He gets pushed around.
Nothing he can really do about it, he's undersized. But it is what it is.
