We are a game back of Utah and have played 6 more road games. (3 more road wins)

With the Utah loss today, the Blazers are now 0.5 games out of the 8th spot. Amazing.

Standings11816.jpg

Blazers have 7 home games in a row coming up: ATL (25-17), LAL (9-34), SAC (17-23), CHA (19-22), MIN (13-29), MIL (18-25), TOR (25-15)
Utah has 3 away games coming up, then 4 home games: @NYK (21-22), @BKN (11-30), @WAS (19-21), DET (22-19), CHA (19-22), MIN (13-29), CHI (24-16).

It'll be interesting to see where we stand at the end of this 7 game home stand. I want the Blazers to get that 7th seed so we can play San Antonio. Bring on LaMarcus!!

Wheels up FAMS!

Sent from my Baller-Ass 5.5" iPhone 6+......... FAMS

Rice looks like he lost his precious.

Good team win tonight. Dame only 34 min play that a plus and CJ only 34 min play another plus. Von had a very good game with 9 Reb. Myers look like he finally relax and just went there and play the game. 45 PTs off the bench that was led by Crabbe and Meyers. Go blazers!!!

Not totally worthless. I assume he is looking at it from a playoff point of view. We are a game back of Utah and have played 6 more road games. (3 more road wins)

I get it...but that Playoff bar is so low right now, it's not much of an accomplishment. Now if the Blazers go on a run and get to .500 or better (at least) then it's more of something to be proud of. Right now, it's almost being in the playoffs because so many teams in the West are terrible.

Blazers went through the entire 1st half of the season without beating a .500 team on the road.

Other great thing is that we have no back to backs during this homestand. Also, don't assume that Spurs are 2 seed. I think, when all is said and done, they will be the 1 seed. They are really close to the Warriors in the standings and have 4 games vs the Warriors coming up.

So Jinx, serious question....... you really are wanting to play Spurs or Warriors in the first round of the playoffs? Just wondering how this helps us become better next season and on.

If the Blazers sneak one on the road and come home to the Crowd chanting Noah 1 minute before tip off, and going nuts throughout the game... There have been crazier upsets, right?

I think the Spurs would be more favorable than the Warriors. But man could you imagine if we found a way to face the Clippers in the first round. I'm sure the players would welcome that match up, and I think it would be an interesting series...

We are only 5.5 games behind Memphis and Dallas for the 5th/6th spot. There's still a lot of season left, and we have 2 more games against Dallas and 1 more vs Memphis to Tie the season series.

I mean how far off are we really from competing in the playoffs. A lot of it is going to have to do with match-ups no matter what. We aren't really deep enough to contend with the Spurs or Warriors, so if we faced them it would be tough. But I wouldn't mind playing any of the other playoff teams - Rockets, Mavs, Grizzlies, Clippers, Thunder.

Rice is smart! He knows in the event of a water landing The HCP can be used as a flotation device.
They are flying from DC to Portland. Not much water under them for that flight. Maybe just wanted someone to get his drinks for him?

So let me get this straight...Now we are shooting for the 6th spot?

I want the Spurs or Warriors, I like it that we'd be underdogs and I don't think we're an easy match-up for either of them. I think many people would sleep on us but we can get at least 1-2 wins and add a competitive playoff-series to this team's resume. I don't think we can close eough gap to face any of the other teams, anyway, and I think we're still at least another season away from contending

Did you just watch what the Warriors did to the Cavs? Nobody sleeps on anyone in the playoffs. I love your optimism but the Blazers need to just get a good pick this year.

We'll get our asses kicked in the playoffs and we'll get the next Kwame Brown in the draft.
In a tanking season - everyone lose. :craphead:

Only Boogie can save us .

Managed to finally watch the game at night, but damn! That offense looked real good. The ball movement was amazing, and having Mase up around foul line as the release guy when Dame gets trapped is looking like a serious threat. He makes good decisions and either drives or kicks to the perimeter, and two passes around the arc later, we get a wide open 3.

It's downright Warriors like.

I seriously want Plumlee as part of our future. He needs to make that foul line jumper a respectable one, and improve his ability to finish at the rim, and he turns into Draymond.

(defense not mentioned).

yea, but some coaches are already on to that shtick. Don't remember which one exposed it the most...Quinn Snyder if i'm not mistaken.

LOL!

Since when is a 1-4 or 2-4 series loss a "competitive playoff-series"?
If we play the Warriors we'll lose 0-4, by an average of 15+ points per game.

Um. We just blew Quinn Snyder out.

Maybe it was the game before, maybe it was some other coach, but i remember Plumlee was targeted in one of the last few games.
And it doesn't matter if we won or not, i'm talking about coaches limiting that line of traffic.

I said at least 1-2 wins. I think if we end the season on a high note (which is probably the case if we make the playoffs) we're good enough for at least that against the Warriors
