Of these 2 hypotheticals, which would you rather choose for the Blazers this season?

besides Dame, Whiteside had a great game. 9-11 on FG's for 21pts, 14reb, and 6blks.

MeJ settled down and morphed into the good CJ we see every so often. He was assisted on 8 of his 12 FG's tonight, which is about where his assisted FG rate should be; and he cut down on is shot-clock-burning-dribble-dribble routine. CJ's assisted FG rate is 35.4%...that should be approaching 60%. He should be doing a lot more catch & shoot and a lot less catch and dribble

This is getting crazy how many times I've had to update this graph this season.

He's score 50 or more points 9 times in his career (so far). It's only been done by a Blazer 16 times total.

This Dame guy is pretty good.

Kobe's passing has just put into perspective for me how much we should appreciate Dame's brilliance and not take a moment of it for granted while he's with us. Legendary talents like them don't come around very often and then they can be gone in an instant.

Dame is in a place right now where few have gone. Regardless of what else is going on around him and with this season, it is a real treat to be able to witness what he is doing in real time.

Dame is doing what Harden was doing when the rockets were hurting last year.

But dame is better and harden is an overrated player, so theres that.

Great night for Dame....but that the Blazers gave up 129 points to a Pacer team without their starting PG, starting Center and still without their starting all-star SG Oladipo is just a continuation of what had been going on this season. It counts as a win against a .500 team, but if they have to score 130 to beat a team without 2-3 of it's best players, it's a pretty hollow win.

I noticed Jody Allen at the game for the first time in quite a while. Conspiracy theory: does that mean a trade is in the works and she was there to decide if it should happen?

On Trent I know he earning his minutes but Stotts playing him that amount minutes to show case him to another team. If they do Olshey might be trying to trade the wrong guard between Simons and Trent. I not saying there trying to trade him but Trent goes hardly playing to finishing games. Hopefully it's just how he is playing.

Was just reading a description of the game, a phrase about Whiteside having a tendency to chase blocks which led to kickouts for threes. I guess this is one of my pet peeves; people saying Whiteside chasing stats that leads to putbacks or threes. My understanding of defense, in any game, is that you first address the most imminent threat to your goal (or basket). An uncontested layup is the surest two points there is. Whiteside needs to try to block any guy who gets past other defenders. It is then the job of the rest of the team to rotate and stop any secondary threats.

I completely agree with this - and would like to note that Ariza is so much better at doing this than Bazemore.

Who’s Trent gonna bench in the closing lineup, especially with Ariza around. I don’t see Simons out there either. In fact, Trent played almost twice as many minutes as he did last night.

I also have this theory that Stotts has no idea what Olshey is up to until something is imminent.

True, but isn't that the case with most teams these days? I wonder if there are guys on message boards for other teams saying, "Yeah, we beat the Blazers, but Nurkic, Collins and Hood are out, and CJ just returned from a bad sprain."

This version of the Blazers is never going to out-defense the other team, so that means that they've got to outscore them. I'm just going to enjoy the win and hope that they can get the next one against the Rockets. Of course, Harden may still be out, so I guess that one wouldn't count either. Damn! Tough to get a win around here.

It's certainly possible that she wanted to see the team first hand one more time before deciding on a big trade. It's more likely that she just has more time now that the Seahawks season is over.

Nah. 90's night and a number of old Blazers present. Plus i'm betting with the crash and all she wanted to attend.

When every body healthy no Trent won't close but he has last two games. But what I am saying is Olshey telling Stotts playing him because a certain team might want to take a look at him for some kind of trade. I am saying I hope that not the case. Yes Trent as earn more minutes.
