No team is able to constantly keep perimeter players from driving. What separates good defenses from bad ones is they know how to help, where to help from, how to rotate to fill in the gaps on the backside, and running the right stuff in the right situation. None of those things are inherently personnel based, yet we struggle with them.

But some teams prevent 1 and 2 dribble blow-bys much better than us.

Providing individual resistance, shading your opponent to a spot, etc. really helps setup your weakside help D. We give up way too many straight line drives, you have to agree with that.

I like our chances. We couldn't shoot much worse. The Bucks threw a couple of haymakers early. We're still standing.

The Bucks staying cold from outside would help as well.

Interesting notes:
If Portland just shot 40%, they'd be within 1 point.

If they shot their average, they're up by 5

Nurkic on defense is better than kanter no doubt. But nurkic is terrible on offense he cant score for shit

Nurk’s scoring efficiency for the 80 games prior to this year was 0.570 which is Ok. This year it is bad at 0.523 but only slightly worse than Melo. He’ll get better. His screens alone are huge on offense.

Lillard makes me believe in spontaneous combustion.

God Nurk is awful on offense. Creating too many wide open shots

If i'm the coach, i would put in Blevins for hack a Giannis. Seriously

So we’re just gonna let Giannis do whatever he wants

Milwaukee is playing like they know that they'll get every shot they want.

Greek Freak wreaks havoc on our meek D.

Milwaukee's offense might be more simplistic than ours. Our best defenders aren't even able to offer up much resistance.
