I think we scored 12 points in the last 31 seconds. Almost 15! Wow.

I feel like every close game has been a loss this year. I feel like 4 game winners have been hit against us, and games like tonight's have been heartbreakers as well.

We could easily be 26-23 right now...
We beat Boston in OT

I wasn't able to watch, but just looking at the team stats it seems we should have won by 5+ points. Then I see the free throw differential and now I understand :(

I don't get it. People constantly bitch out Dame and CJ for playing hero ball, and they bitch out Stotts for forcing the ball to Dame at the end of games, but then when we get a WIDE OPEN shot to win a game by someone else, almost everyone complains that we should have had Dame or CJ force a shitty shot with about .1% chance of going in. We were trying to force it to Dame or CJ, but they denied it. I don't think ET was even going to look to shoot it except he shook Durant so hard he found himself wide open and he had to shoot it. It's not like he had a ton of time to make up his mind either.

I'm not mad that dame or CJ didn't get the shot. I'm mad that ET didn't make it...he got the shot, he had to take it, he just couldn't make it, then Plumlee followed that with a lazy attempt at a putback

????

Whatever. Back to accounting homework.

The worst no call was when Zaza pushed Plumlee. And the three 3s by Iggy. And yet we still almost won.

There were a lot of worst no calls

I can't be mad at ET for that. He played his ass off and made several clutch plays to even give us a shot. I'm mad we lost, but not because of ET missing the shot that could have won it. Aminu's 3 straight idiotic possessions killed us. I love what he brings elsewhere, but he has these spurts almost every game where he just kills us on the offensive end with mind bogglingly stupid decisions to play like he's an offensive star. The refs killed us. Other than that it was a good game and I'm happy that we didn't roll over when we got down big early. Earlier in the season we would have lost a game like this by 45. Oh wait, we totally did.

Edit: Lesser teams would have lost this by 12 once the Warriors got up by 7 with like 35 seconds left. Damn proud of the effort tonight.

Pretty biased officiating tonight. We completely destroyed Golden State in the paint, 60-32, yet somehow they managed to get to the line 39 times compared to 12 for the home team. Not only that, but KD got away with 3-4 travels. When we lost the game by two points and the opponent had a plus-24 at the foul line, I think it's fair to say the officials cost us this one.

Did we play perfectly? Of course not. There were way too many jump passes in the first quarter, passed up too many open looks (over-passing), and CJ and Dame didn't touch the ball nearly enough in key stretches of the 3rd and 4th quarters. With that said, you shouldn't have to play a perfect game.

Side note: Klay Thompson and Draymond Green were really All-Stars this year? I know team records matter but damn, they looked like shells of their former selves out there tonight, especially given an opportunity to shine with Curry sidelined.

...didn't get a chance to see this game or follow this game thread so without digging through it, why was there such a huge differential in FTA? :dunno: certainly not "home court" advantage!

I was watching this game with my father at my parent's place. I love my father, but as a GS fan, he is so annoying sometimes.

But he ain't no bandwagon fan. And he totally respects the Blazers.

As for the game itself, GS's Defense is freaking outstanding. I didn't expect us to win that game, but we kept it competitive, and that's the best I could have asked for.

I REALLY wish ET would have made that shot though. Total heart breaker loss.

And someone needs to slap Aminu for those 3 lost possessions. Jesus Christ....

Overall, I thought we played okay. I really wish Dame would have had more points though.

On a no negative Monday, look at the brightside. We ALMOST beat the Warriors at home, without their best player, on the second night of their back to back.

There was a FT discrepancy, so a lot of fans can blame that.

Aminu held Durant to 33 points

Who knows, if Ezeli had played, and the Warriors were missing 1 or 2 other players, we may have won.

Who held Green to 5 points and made him turn the ball over 7 times? Durant turned it over 7 times, too. Thompson went 6-21.

This is the ET I expected when he was signed. Starting, filling out the score sheet.

Looks like the Blazers have really discovered defense, and that's why we can get to within one shot of winning games against the best.

Feel bad for ET on that one. Damn. We played a good game tho. Winning streak coming up.

Is the best the best without the best?

I dunno man. So many times, a team is better for a game or two without its best player. Seen it happen with the Blazers, seen it happen throughout the NBA. Not long-term, but for a few games, sometimes guys step up and play beyond their typical games.

Also, Durant is their best player this year.
