Well written - it will go down as one of the most perplexing losses. Give the Devs credit, but we were at best okay in game 3, 100% didn't show in game 4, and then tonight at best whatever. These guys look like it is game 5 of the season, not game 5 of the playoffs. That's why I think Gallant gets fired off this. How do you bring it back without something being done? This wasn't just a series loss, it was a total collapse, with no passion or real effort or urgency after game 2. Someone has to pay for that, and I think it will be the coach.
I also think the Rangers need to change their philosophy. I would look to move Goodrow and Panarin, and I give the kids bigger roles. I look to have a real 3rd line, not one made of skill players, but a top faceoff C, and some grinding playoff type wingers.
Enough with the big names and stars. As many runs as the Rangers have made over the past 11 years, one theme is common, they no show many big playoff games, they almost never have a killer instinct in a series, and regardless of the name on the jersey they do not score in the playoffs. Time for a change.[/QUOTE
