You literally could flip every sentence above and have as much proof to back it up.
  • Drafting is an inexact science / coaching is an inexact science.
  • Stotts isn't trying his best/ Olshey isn't trying his best.
  • Stotts' stubbornness gets in the way / Olshey's stubborness with his guys gets in the way
  • Stotts seems like he'd rather have his way work than try something else / Olshey would rather have his picks work than try a new core
Its why I think making these statements one way or the other are totally silly.
Uh coaching is not the same as being a GM, sorry to burst your bubble. I have a basis for everything I say and have spent hours upon hours breaking down my reasoning for an audience while you say random stuff that doesnt make sense.

Olsheys signed with his guys? Theres been a ton of turnover the past two years.

Olshey isn't trying his best? If that's so then he's doing an amazing job.

Olshey would rather have his picks work instead of his core? Didnt he just trade his pick in Gary Trent Jr. for Norman Powell?

I never said being a coach and GM were the same. The fact they are different and yet every statement could be said about either, shows how vague the statements are.

  1. Olshey has stuck with the same top 2 for 8 years, highly uncommon among non-championship teams. What other teams in the league have done this?
  2. I don't pretend to know a GM or coaches "effort", it would be silly for anyone here to think they have any clue about the effort they put into their jobs. Not liking a scheme in a game is not the same as effort.
  3. I did not say Olshey has never traded any of his picks. If your statements about Stotts were also absolutes and not trends, then they would be even more off-base and unfounded.

Wait, CJ was a top 2 player 8 years ago? News to me. I thought it was Aldridge and Dame.

You are correct, 6 years. How many other non-championship teams have had the same top 2 players for the last 6 years? Still 1-2?

Olshey has never kept a 2nd round pick. Now 1st pick is a different story and the only he has got rid of was leonard and took him 7 years to do that.

The difference in 25th and 37th is arbitrary in regards to the point of "Olshey doesnt trade his picks".

You dont want to bring up performance vs. tenure, trust me.

Your unwillingness to answer my question says it all.

I always thought you valued the perormance vs tenure argument. Now when it comes to Olshey, not so much.

You say silly shit until people stop entertaining you then you think you've won, lmao.

Another non-basketball comment.

0 teams in 6 years?

But now bringing up success over a tenure is "silly shit".

I closed the thread.

Please don't continue the argument into tonight's game thread.
