I'm pretty sure that this obvious drop off in interest makes it clear just how valuable Dame is to this franchise at this point. That's the dude that pulls in the attention of the people. I do think that if moves are made and other interesting players are acquired or if moves are made and we start a much quicker descent towards better odds of being able to draft a difference maker this year, that this place will light up again but if very little is done and none of it is interesting... this is the new normal until Dame gets back and that will likely be next season.
Really they can't afford to just burn this season... I wouldn't think. So Cronin either needs to make big moves to make the team better or moves that make us worse for right now but bring in draft picks and expiring contract or players who won't help us win but have really tradable contracts.
Despite all of this losing, we've stayed in the 10th spot. The teams below us are tanking much harder than we are. We could play sub 500 ball the rest of the way and still make the play-in. What could generate interest again is a 10th/9th game vs the Lakers in the play in. Dame comes back and knocks the Lakers out of the playoffs. Would check off this season as a win.
It's less posts for sure. But I'm not sure it's a bunch less posters. There are a couple that have given up. Pretty sure they will come back if the team gets going again.
Here's the problem. That might not be for a few years. Those of you expecting a quick turnaround could be in for a rude awakening. I simply don't see any quick fixes right now. Guess we will see.
I dont know how anyone can think about to "save this season" with a win now trade after this abysmal performance. Just give up and tank as hard as possible for this years draft and try to win now again in 22/23 season
That's not a serious trade idea, it was just an outrageous response to @UKRAINEFAN I just took two high profile players who are in injury limbo and made trades that I could probably get a video game to allow.
