I'm not playing this game. It is very easy to circumvent the rules and attack posters making it seem like they are attacking the post but the message is very clear what the intent is. If you want to discuss it further we can take it to pm as this isn't the appropriate place for this type of discussion.

There is some truth to this, but I imagine it's difficult to moderate it.

I've never read the rules. Do they evaluate a post on what it explicitly says, or on what a reader claims is its covert intent?

(Yes, I've never clicked that new "S2 Rules" thread in the OT section. Maybe someday for laughs, but until I need to, it's a waste of time, better used on posting my pearls of wisdom.)

Ultimately, we put more weight on the exact wording, though we do take intent into consideration when it is overly explicit. Still, it is hard to navigate that sometimes. There is a fine line and many here like to walk it. We can't police everything.

I'm sorry for my part in this but I really was attacking the post and the posting style. I admit it pisses me off when we are having a discussion about something and he chimes in with "Fans don't make trades so this discussion is irrelevant". What is the point of posts like that? It happens in numerous threads every day. It's like no shit we can't actually make a real trade with another fan base but any forum would be stupid if we didn't have discussions.

Quit whining. All this time I thought fans made the trades. I remember saying no to a Barkley trade once back in the day and it didn't happen.

I thought it was because of me.

I just looked in my bank account and realized I haven't been paying the players myself. I'm gonna have to see where my millions went.

And, I took it as such. I saw you were frustrated with the breakdown in discussion. It sounded like you were asking for him to contribute to conversations rather than shut them down. So, I decided against editing your post.

Just doing my job. I do see where Cup was coming from too. Using words like Stupid and such. They way you wrote it could be taken that you are saying all of his posts are stupid and discourage conversation. I get that is not what you were going for. I also see how Cup could have felt attacked.

See, I concluded it's kind of pointless to discuss trades. So I just ignore the discussions. The healthy thing to do, if you think it's pointless. But everyone else, please have their fun.

My point was never that discussing trades is pointless (I don't really get involved that often in trade ideas) but when someone posts a trade idea from an opposing fan and a poster acts like it's a legit trade idea, then I might comment which I did in this case and then was aggressively attacked with cuss words and calling my posts as stupid. Then I take offense. I could have easily responded in my first response that putting any weight on a trade idea from another teams forum is "fucking stupid", but I didn't. If it were the first time, I likely would have ignored it, but it has happened several times lately.
