Btw I found it interesting that Aminu didn’t sub in for Moe at the end of the first half. If I didn’t know any better I would guess they’re showcasing Moe. Not sure that’s a good idea.
 
These guys just let Whiteside protect the rim and the other 4 are free to pressure the perimeter. Cj and Jake are the two who can beat that. Hood would help tonight with his mid range game.

I swear Moe goes into a shell on purpose in the weeks leading up to the trade deadline to tank his trade value because he doesn't want to be traded.

Yup. Some of the contests were a bit late and I think we could played with more force and physicality defensively.

Making plenty of other mistakes defensively as well. A couple late and low resistance switches, standing around on the defensive glass, couple back cuts...

Thought they ramped it up at the end of the half though.
 
Nurkic has developed a nice synergy with Layman. It a lot easier for a 7' player to throw those shorter lobs from the high post than Portland's collection of tiny guards

Zach and Meyers is so awkward offensively sometimes.

Don't like that they empty the corner on the double drag in transition either. I'd much rather have those two screen away for somebody else rather than themselves.

Easy decision to switch for the D and we really don't get anything good off it if the handler can't get free.

I'm totally good with trading either or both. It's really time to move on. We can't keep playing 3 on 5 on offense. We need to stop being sentimental.
 
Whoever thought of players only should get fired. Yeah let's get a bunch of former players and give them no structure. It'll be fun!

I'm fine with him coming off the bench as long as he's getting the minutes....and the shots when he is producing. They need a Super-Sub and Jake is starting to fill that role.

This is correct, Dame/Layman/Nurk all play very nice together. A real stretch 4 and a two way player at the 2 and we might have something.
