gobert shuts down the paint. he doesn't just block shots.

Yes and no; I didn't get to see the first half, but CJ and Dame abused him by the end; he wasn't going for blocks against their extended layups.

Just to be clear I think Gobert is pretty good. I just also think Plumlee is pretty good too. Just in a much different way.

Gobert is whatever. Even when he's blocking shots the blazers keep attacking him. They don't fear him.

Gobert is a better rim protector than Hibbert in his prime.
Yeah better shot blocker but I think Hibbert was better at not losing position after a block, Gobert isn't the best when it comes to recovery after a block which leads to a lot of second chances.

I mean.... we did shoot 15 more attempts than them.... but they also were fouling Harkless, Davis, and Plumlee like crazy.

And did we trade Harkness..... for a ball bag? Got to go down as one of the worst trades of the offseason. Orlando got robbed.

They wouldn't have played him anyways and he walk this summer as a free agent. It's an example of why you don't want too many players with similar experience. They had Harris, Gordon, Fournier, Frye and Hezonja all getting forward minutes. Harkless was the odd man out. He had a bad attitude there which is a concern I have with him here long term. But he's had some awesome plays this year and looks like a hell of a steal. Olshey can really find high level players on the discount rack.

Funny cuz I was pretty sure the Jazz were getting all the calls tonight. Can't even think of a borderline call going Portland's way.

Off topic, but I absolutely hate ESPN's new boxscore set up. First they fucked up the website in general, then they fucked up the boxscores. I want an option to have the old style back where I could actually read all the stats in one page.

Yeah I'd been at their box scores since the 90's. Was something I was used to and comfortable with. I'm on NBA.com now. Another good thing about it is theres no horrible big city Lakers/Knicks shoved down your throat.

In all seriousness, I hope KS and Mags backed up what they were saying and bet because they so deserves to win that! They've been saying it since the beginning on the season.

I feel like a moron because I wanted to put $500 down on that bet, but was too lazy/chicken.
