I know that, it isn't what I'm talking about. If the offensive player pump fakes from a standing position and the defender jumps but wouldn't have come down on the offensive player but the offensive player ducks or lowers his shoulder into the person who jumped (even if it's non vertical), that shouldn't be a foul but they call it a foul all the time in the NBA.

That's where the rule should probably be reinterpreted.

An airborne shooter is allowed to jump in any direction. The defender must remain legal (jumping straight up in his vertical plane). The offensive player definitely has an advantage there.

They've tried to clean it up by making sure a player is actually in his shooting motion. This has had mixed results.

My thoughts are that this will be a hard one to change without having unintended consequences.

I just got done with the game and wow, watching Golden State is like...

They fabricate conflict and then whine and throw hissy fits.

To think it was just the other day that Durant was telling the media to "grow up". Good God.

Damn, I would like this team to realize that if they go for this NWAttitiude more often they can go so much further.
Their "culture" thing here is to much like F.R.I.E.N.D.S and it's so nice, but one knows that you build strong team chemistry on games like this one. Building team chemistry on "sandwiches for everybody and let's go for Ed Sheran's gig together" can't never match it.

And having three white big guys that can piss off oposing team can work wonders in distraction for Dame's double teaming:)

Really?
Green was the only one losing his cool before Kerr got tossed.
After that GSW lost their leader and started picking up silly fouls.
Seems like it only sealed their L tonight.
You're right.

My point was just he had nothing to lose by doing that. Could have fired them up
Could get them calls going forward

LOL Did we have an 8 point possession? That was great!

Green got a flagrant because stared down the ref and the hard foul was obviously on purpose to get the refs attention. The intent to foul on purpose was definitely brewing for several possessions and the fact the foul wouldn't probably warrant a flagrant without him being so demonstrative about calls all the time definitely made it flagrant. For those that don't think it was a good call go back and just watch Green for 2-3 minutes before the play. Yes, it is partly the refs fault for letting him get away with all the previous stuff but there has to be a line and he intentionally tried to cross it.

Durant's push on Collins should have been a technical or a flagrant too! What a bunch of whiny, dirty bitches.

Great win though, you could tell the Warriors wanted this one too.
Agree with you in principal on this. The Refs made the call because of a number of issues going on at the time in the game. The foul itself however was not a Flag 1. So i can't say they made the right call. What i feel they should have done was kept better control of Draymond Green from the beginning. That is the problem here. Somebody needed to T him up early so he knew there was a line he couldn't cross.
I also noticed the mini hand swipe/shake after Durant did his little hard foul on Collins also. I lost a bit of respect for Durant on that whole thing. KD seems really willing to talk and do little things but he never really wants to be in the mix. He was egging Green on in that whole issue.

This is wrong and the rule prevents injuries like Pachulia on Leonard.

The principle of verticality (basketball term) says a player whether on offense or defense owns his spot on the floor where he stands to the ceiling. The same applies to an airborne shooter. If I jump, I'm allowed to land without being impeded.
So really you just made his point. Offense or Defense the player owns his spot. If the shooter moves under him after he jumps it should be an offensive foul or at least a non call.

ESPN preempted locally so had to watch Warriors broadcast. Fun seeing them groan. GSW is used to everything going their way, can't handle it when things don't. Hop to see replays on ESPN or NBA TV.

Games like this make me miss Paul Allen, you know he would have loved it.

Interestingly, you should have seen Steph Curry during the warmups. He was hitting unbelievable long range three point shots. Of course, there was no one in his face contesting those shots.

This was one of the most epic bench performances in blazer history. The blazers bench came back and took the lead in the 4th vs their starters.
How true. Stotts held Lillard out in the fourth quarter until about 4 minutes left because the bench was playing so extremely well.

Oh boy i was reading the GS fan thread. You gotta read some of these....
It’s pretty sad how champs can’t get calls in this league

Dubs will remember you Zach Collins
Straight nobody.

I think he assumed people watching the game are well aware that Draymond runs his mouth
and was just informing the audience about Collins also, because no one outside of the people who watch the Blazers knows who the hell he is.

(AHHH YOU DO NOW!)

Of course the end point for most of them is that the game was meaningless in the end and they will sweep the Blazers in the playoffs. We will see now won't we?

That team can shoot the ball. It's not just Curry but yes he is pretty much automatic at times.

I think it's funny how fans like to say "Nobody knows who he is".. might as well just admit hes a casual fan lmao.

They get so salty.

To be fair on that. I really don't know the names of their rotation players either. A lot of people would not call me a casual fan. But i agree with you. Compared to you (And quite a few on here) i am definitely a casual fan.
Thus....
Kjironman is a fan!!!

Best 4th quarter of the year,
First 4th quarter comeback,
Great ball movement,
More size on defense,

CJ not in the 4th quarter for the first time in a loooong time.

....I don't think these things are a coincidence.

I will bet you that McCollum will play in the 4th the next game and many many games after that.

I mean of the general NBA, not necessarily their team. Also mean it compared to a nutjob like me who knows literally every player on every roster and could list their strengths, weaknesses, height, position, college, etc.

He probably will. And we also probably won't see a 4th quarter as dominant as that one. And @TBpup and others will say that there is a solid connection between those occurrences.

'Solid connection' would be a stretch for me but I personally find it quite interesting to see how well they played and how free flowing the ball movement was without CJ in there. Also, they had such interchangeable defenders for most of the Warriors switches, it caused some issues on offense for the Dubs.

Last year something similar happened as well. Their largest margin of victory for the year was a road game against the Sun's where CJ did not play. The next time they played Phoenix, it was in Portland, CJ played, and it was a down to the wire game.

Much to small a sample size and complete opposite ends of the spectrum with Golden State and Phoenix..... but it is curious.

What a 4th quarter!

Ya think? You McCollum haters have really gone off the rails with your obsession to hate on him. Let me ask you a question. Is it easy to continually jump on and off the bandwagon?
