I think it’s an underrated part about coaching in nba. It’s a lot easier to coach younger players. Vets are usually set in their ways. Probably why there’s so much coaching turnover in the league. I think we’ll see full buy in from Dame though. He’s a billups type mentally. He’ll be better without CJ. There’s also a part of me that believes Dame sacrificed defensively because playing through his injury mixed with his offensive responsibility was just too much to handle. So a healthy Dame might surprise on the defensive end.
It would still suck to have a sub-optimal defense all over again when Josh Hart could be playing in place of one of them. Hart also looks to be the more efficient scorer of the three. Nice to have when Dame or Ant are throwing up bricks.

hart is absolutely a starting caliber guard/wing, but he's also not the kinda shooter he's shown us his first two games. he's gonna cool down a bit. if he embraces a 6th man role where he plays 30mpg, i think we can stagger dame/ant sufficiently to get a solid defense in aggregate.

I also think there will be times that having all three of them on the floor at the same time will be beneficial.

For the 2021-22 season Hart has been more efficient than our guards scoring. Dame was more efficient last season. If Dame is healthy and Ant is playing well, it could be a tossup, which is good for the Blazers.

there will be enough minutes for all of them. I bet we even see them together because unlike CJ and Powell, Hart actually defends and rebounds.

The Trade with the Pels is looking a bit better. Seems like both CJ and Hart needed to have a different situation.
Seriously the fans over at Pelicans Roost are saying much of the same things this forum has been saying. Both Players could thrive from their new positions on teams.

Ben is better in every way. That's why I know he'd be such a great fit. Let's hope Brooklyn gets cooked in the first round.
I'm kind of wanting to see what happens in Brooklyn first. He still has not even played a game yet. I expect him to have a good first week or two. Same as Hart and CJ are doing. But i would like also to see if he gets blasted again in the Playoffs when he can't make a shot and cannot hit a free throw. He's absolutely no threat standing in a corner so teams will play 5 on 4 defense when they sag off him and when he gets the ball they will hack him and make him go to the line where he wilts like a lettuce in a microwave. The big question is "Can Nash get this guy to actually work on his game?". If not? I don't want him anywhere near the Blazers. If he can he won't ever be available.

Great game so far the new roster is doing well but let's see what we look like once teams have enough tape on this roster to do a proper scouting of the team.

No surprise to Blazer fans. Many have been saying CJ would thrive without Lillard.

Agreed. Reading their forum is kinda the same in reference to Josh Hart. They all seem to know he can be really good but might have just needed a new place. They also feel that CJ has been held back by being second option. Now It seems Cronin is being honest and sincere when he says this deal was in the making for a while and a number of people including Dame and CJ approved of it.

Good point. The only way we could acquire him is if it doesn't work well in Brooklyn.

If Simmons fails in Philly, sits out most of a year, then can't succeed with Durant and Nash as a coach, why would he succeed here?

We going to end up with a better record than the Lakers?

I would love to beat the Lakers and Pelicans, either finish above them in the standings or knock them out of the playin and send them to the lottery. We get the Pels pick. The Pels get the Lakers pick. Dame comes back for some fun games in the playoffs with this young team, and we now have all our future picks after 2022.

Of course getting our own lottery pick could be a nice alternative. But there is enough upside with us winning that its fine for us all to just root for wins.

I was waiting for you to pat me on the back, but got impatient!
Good Job!
