Need to get this win, don't play down to their level, we have the tools, just need the confidence. Play strong from start to finish and make this an easy win

Maybe you don't know what the word "implied" means?

Portland's actions (Olshey's actions) definitely implied that Ed's contributions were not valued. The narrative was that they wanted to make room for Collins, who is younger and a better fit for Portland's 'time horizon'. This could definitely be viewed by Ed (and those around him) that Portland thought he was on the downside of his career.
Or possibly there was no way they were ever going to get Davis to make a shot outside 4 feet? Loved Ed Davis but he could not make a shot. It's why he isn't a starter. It's also why he doesn't make starter money.

Plus their level is not that bad. They may not be dominate at home, but they have more wins on the road then we do. We have only won 4 more games then the Nets. This will be a tough game.

Honestly, I'd rest him and let Kanter go ape shit. Surely there's a lineup we can play where he gets 15 or 20 minutes? Not with Nurk, obviously.

I'd let Anfernee back up Curry and see what the kid's got.

Fucking injuries. Couldn't have happened a week ago, no no....the day before our next series of games......

Nets play small so Collins will probably get fucked out of the rotation tonight.

Let's be honest fams. Collins was good against Golden State sure, But what did he do before to earn minutes??

......Collins scored 4 points against GS. Not exactly inspiring confidence there......

They're not in the same level as ours and we shouldn't make excuses for ourselves. They're maybe not bad, they're maybe overachieving, but we have much more talent and need to win this going away.
The only real reason not to is having to incorporate some new faces but if we play strong from start to finish, we're the better team

This game could dictate our road record. If we win 4-3 record easy.

Collins should be in the rotation against most teams. Shit, he may even be in the rotation tonight. Benching him after the warriors game sends the wrong message, don’t care if they signed Kanter. They can play with each other. Maybe they go with 11 tonight with Harkless getting vonlehd, where he only plays in the beginning of both halves.

Lightning does strike twice. Two years in a row, Portland's last game before the All-Star break has been against Golden State, and two years in a row the Blazers have come out victorious.

It was such a fantastic win that Stotts was handing out cupcakes in the lockerroom after the game. I assume he was inspired by Evan Turner, who often hands out confectionaries of another kind during games (turnovers).

The season long, 23-game losing streak when trailing after 3Q has finally ended. Phew! Glad to get that monkey off our back, and so much sweeter that it was against the Whiny Warriors.

Speaking of streaks, Portland is still undefeated when Seth scores over 9 points. So maybe Stotts should get the man more shots.

Last year's victory against Golden State before the All-Star break was the beginning of a 13-game win streak. I know a repeat of that happening is almost impossible (especially since the next 7 games will be on the road), but it would marvelous if the Blazers could string a least a few wins in a row. The longest winning streak has been 4 this season, which is nothing to write home about.

In Playoff positioning, we are still 4th in the West. Feels like we've been 4th for a while now. Houston is still breathing down our necks, being just 1 game behind in the 5th slot. We need to create some separation by winning some of these road games in the second stanza of the season, and that starts here. Let's go!

Oh wow. 100 million points awarded to you for that line!!!!!

I think that will be because of the addition of Kanter, not the opponent.

I think that will be Meyers more so than Collins...though Stotts will want to play Layman at the 4 with Kanter so that will effect Collins play time too

Likely. However, with the reputation for defensive deficiencies held by several of our bench players, and the tendency leaguewide toward longer, taller lineups, a bench crew of Turner/Hood/Layman/Collins/Kanter would definitely have some value in certain situations. If I were Stotts, Curry and Collins would be 10/11th men, used situationally with the other 4 depending on matchups and scenarios.

Dame is such a great guy. I don't see KD or Westbrook out there coaching the Special Olympics.

Who was it that called Enes Kanter, Penis Cancer. Thanks a lot. Now everytime I hear his name I think Penis Cancer
