Good for him? Why do you care if I think he’s a superstar or not? I think he might be someday. You keep asking and trying to turn this into an argument.
Even if we included the top 10 as superstars I wouldnt have Tatum there. So you don't think Anthony Davis and Joel Embiid are superstars? And obviously, as you said, Curry and KD are superstars. So it we're talking Top 9 there. Jokic not a superstar? Westbrook who won MVP less than 3 years ago? If it's only Top 5 to you then Dame wasn't a superstar last year because he wasn't Top 5 last year. I guess we just have different definitions. I think there can absolutely be 10-15 superstars in the league. That is how the NBA is marketed. Tatum has become a superstar and it's why Boston is a Top 5 team in the NBA.
It's true. He's modeled his game after Kobe.
Tortured- still think Boston doesn't have a superstar?
Huh? Hes not one but hes not not close.Tatum is no where near a superstar.
He'll streak. Probably hit like 10-15 straight and bring it back up a bit. Also he is at 73.9%So CJ down to 72% from the line on the season? Like what the fuck...
It’s crazy. This is a dude who shot over 90% from the line just a couple years ago and actually led the league in percentage.
Is this the biggest drop by a player ever? To literally go from low 90s to damn near the 60s?

I think some of it has to do with him getting to the line. For some reason he is not getting to the line as much this year? Though he is taking more shots (mostly threes). Seems like the more he gets to the line the better he is shooting? And no. Not anywhere close to the biggest drop. As a matter of fact his rise between 14-15 and 15-16 was bigger than his drop this year.
It is weird for sure. I just do not see him staying this low though. He will continue to work and get through the problem. Brook had a interview with him on this subject last game. He ain't happy about it. You can see that. For all his mid range mastery, I would expect him to be a yearly 90% plus shooter at the stripe. Weird
Tatum is better than Butler and the overrated Paul George. Better than Jokic too. But yes, we disagree on definitions.Even if we included the top 10 as superstars I wouldnt have Tatum there.
Lebron, Dame, AD, Doncic, Harden, Giannis, Embiid, Jimmy Butler, Jokic, Paul George, Kawhi. All those guys to me “right now” are clearly better or have proven for longer stretches they can be elite over Tatum. Im not trying to knock tatum, and you may be right he’s coming into that, like if we had to do my top 10 24 and younger guys he’s definitely on that list.
Tatum is on a team that is just loaded with above average NBA players, and then Brown, Tatum and Kemba who IMO are all really good NBA players like allstar guys. Danny Ainge has done a very good job.
The term superstar is thrown around a lot and we may just be arguing over semantics, but I really dont think that Tatum right now fits what my definition of a superstar is.
