Swanigan and Whiteside score easily in their post ups due to a huge size discrepancy.

Do we go back to them at all? No.

What do they do instead? Continue trying to post up Melo who is 2/6 and can't get much separation on his post moves so far tonight.

Gary Trent? what are you doing on defense? good grief. waiting under the hoop for a rebound?

You know I'm a big proponent of feeding the big in the post. :)

Often what happens with Whiteside is he forces less than ideal attacks because his teammates failed to set him up on plays prior that would have been actually ideal.

Right, why would we want a guy shooting 61.1% on the fucking season forcing attacks?

do the blazers know they're playing a poor defensive team?

WHAT THE FUCK?

Trae Young is 0-4 from 3 and 2-8 from the field yet Stotts chooses now to throw double teams at him? He's not even willing to do that usually when players are actually killing us.

You literally can't make this shit up. The only possible explanation is that he's trying to tank games, nothing else makes sense.

Whats super annoying is Young and company have figured out that a double team / trap at the top means theirs an open guy and are getting wide open shots. Blazers havent figured that out in years.
This is not a complicated concept. Weird that a coach who is poor at throwing a double team does so crappy on offense against double teams.

At some point you start to think the fact that everyone lights us up from outside just might be because of us.
Their gameplan is make anyone but young beat us. Which is something I guess. However all its really accomplished is giving up wide open jump shots. The thing is the Blazers should be able to manufacture those same shots when Teams do it them but they dont...

I had no idea what was going on there.

Seems like somebody told Terry that the Rip City Kings are taking exception to his timeout management!

Also what the deuce, it’s the Atlanta Hawks boys...

We gave up 10 3 point so that never change. They get suck to the middle and then can't get back to the 3 point shooters. Melo doesn't go out to guard the 3 point line so nothing changes either the coaches can't make adjustments or the players either don't understand what the coaches saying or the players plainly totally ignore the coaches. I don't know what it is but they can't make playoffs playing defense like this and maybe it would be good if they don't.

I dont know what to make of it. I mean I complain when he doesnt try something new so its kind of hypocritical for me to complain when he does. Whats frustrating is look how good ATL is at making EASY passes to wide open guys. Maybe the Blazers should look at the tape and say oh thats how you beat a trap....

So I was looking at the team stats....the team is 27th in 3 point defense.

Their opponents shoot better from 3 than they do.

Maybe get a coach who puts any kind of emphasis on defense might help?
