Would you rather have the 6th/7th Seed than the 5th, since it means we won't face GS in the 2nd Rd?

Portland is back on the road again for a relatively short 3-game trip this coming week. The first game of this trip will be a great matchup as the West's 5th best team goes against the 7th place team. The Clippers are only 2.5 games behind the Blazers, and if they win this match, they will be just 1.5 games back.

Portland cannot afford to take any nights off, as they are in a heated race for Playoffs seeding. A whole slew of teams are breathing down the Blazers' neck for that 5th seed, but at the same time, Portland is looking up, hoping to catch OKC and Houston. They currently have an identical record to OKC, but because the Thunder has the tiebreaker, the Blazers are essentially 1 full game behind them. And the Blazers are half a game behind the Rockets, so every win is impactful towards moving up in the seedings.

When the Clippers traded away Tobias Harris, some thought they were tanking. However, they seem dead-set on going to the Playoffs, as they have won 7 of their last 10 games. Luckily for Portland, the Clippers will be on the second night of a back-to-back (though it will be home-and-home), so this gives the Blazers a legitimate chance to steal this game.

No good Clippers! No Hood, Blazers? With the injuries to Hood and ET, and their status for this game in doubt, Portland is suddenly looking thin at the SF spot. But this opens up more minutes for Jake the Great, and potentially Anfernee Simons, who played his first meaningful minutes of his NBA career last game against the Suns (and hit his first NBA 3-pointer).

Here is the stat of the night: Blazers 12-0 when Seth Curry scores 10+.

Let's start off the road trip right and get the W!

As far as the poll question.... if ANYONE on the team is looking at the second rouns match-ups, they are in for trouble. Portland needs to first focus on the more important task at hand.... win a game in the playoffs.

Would not be so certain the 7 spot will not bring the Warriors.
Any way.Always play to win and get the best seed you can. Any home court advantage at all is important.

I really dislike the Clippers but it does give me some joy that they are the LA team that’ll be in the playoffs.

You also got Trent that can play SF.

Thanks Blazers are going to face OKC in the first round and it will be one hell of series!

The team needs to focus on winning a game in the playoffs. WE can focus on planning the parade.

I'll be there. @Pinwheel1 @Reep are you guys rollin?

There are about 60 people from Blazer Fans LA going to the game together.

Unfortunately my wife is working that evening and I have the kids to run around. Keep checking though. My youngest has been asking about going to another game.

the game against the Clippers is actually an important game. If LAC manages to beat Boston tonight, they'd only be 2 games behind Portland. And if they beat the Blazers, only 1 game behind and they would own the tiebreaker

conversely, if they lose to Boston and Portland they'd be 4 games behind and Portland would own the tiebreaker...so 5 games behind, and they would only have 12 games to make up the difference.

You can't say stuff like this because then when you point it out after the game you get responses like...

Other teams lost to the Clippers too!!!

We're still ahead of them!!!

Do you expect to win every game?!?!?

Blazers won 5 in a row two weeks ago so this loss doesn't matter!!!

Quit trying to change what happened, that's revisionist history!!!

Nothings easy and Clippers are playing well. Hoping for a W

Holy shit! I know I’ve posted some blurry shots on here, 1 in fact that I guess made people want to quit the forum, but I HAD to share this one! Look who’s here at our hotel! You think we are signing him for the stretch playoff run? Wow!

If you have to force a meme, it isn't meme-worthy.
