We looked good early and then we've played like crap and have been out hustled. We're back to the dump and change bullshit and not getting any forecheck pressure or zone time.

They didn't even dump and chase. They reverted back to the dump and then everyone goes to change and no forecheck pressure. Dump and chase can work if they did it right, which is what they did early on. Then Tampa got pressure consistently and anytime we got the puck out, we dumped and all 5 guys went off to change instead of anyone chasing down the puck and keeping some pressure on them. They can't do that in the second period because they'll get pinned down for far too long with that long change and get screwed. Gotta be much more aggressive out there.

I realize there's another team out on the ice but I don't understand why this team can never maintain a game plan. Things worked so well last game so lets come out on home ice and play tentative and scared again.

To be fair, both teams played a little timid in that period at different times. We looked real good early and then disappeared and Tampa looked bad early and then looked real good. We need to be better in the dzone with getting the puck out quicker, which will lead to scoring chances because Tampa is pinching their dmen in pretty deep.
