Would it have been better in the long-run if the Blazers tanked post-All-Star break?

And then there were 3.

With the Blazers win tonight the Minnesota Timberwolves and Dallas Mavericks have been eliminated from playoff contention.

Dallas sees their 3 season playoff streak snapped.

Now it is officially down to Portland/Denver/New Orleans/Memphis for that 8th spot

We play good defense at times especially with the big run in the 4th. Magic number is 4 to clinch a the 8th seed.

Turner has a lot more room to operate without Nurkic. I'm not sure if those two will co-exist.
Imagine being a lottery pick, in your 5th year, only center on the team, and you're playing with the mop up squad.
This indicates to me that Stotts doesn't think that he has any serious physical problems.

The thought has crossed my mind that Leonard was using it as a cop out.

There's always a first time!

Look at the Knicks when they went to the finals in 94 (?)!! Or when the Nuggets beat the #1 seed, or the Warriors did!?

THIS COULD BE OUR YEAR! BELIEVE HARDER! LEARN THE GAME THEN POST!

sincerely, Kingspeed.
Knicks went to Finals in 99 at 8 seed actually. As for MM- if the team as constructed now isn't good enough to win half their games, the 14 pick isn't gonna get them to a championship. So no, if this team had tanked, we'd have serious problems. These guys want to win and get the best seed possible. Warriors were 6th seed the year before they won the title.

Didn't people say the same thing last year when we went to the second round? How'd that work out?
How'd it work out? Stay tuned. We will be facing the Warriors in the playoffs again this season. Let's see how much better they play this time around. Playoff experience is everything. No teams go from lotto to championship in one year.

If PA and Olshey wanted the team to tank they should have assembled a shittier team. It's not on the players and coach to tank. Any player or coach that agree to throw games are cancer.
Not sure what your angle is?

The question is...

Would it have been better in the long run if the Blazers tanked post all star break.

The question then is 8 seed or better lottery pick, for the future health of the franchise.

I think the latter would be better off overall.

No, but several go from lotto to to championship in a couple years.

Portland has been in purgatory for 15ish years.
