Just lose baby. I'm not even watching the game tonight. One, I'm supremely confident they will be pummeled. Two, the season is over. Three, I'd much rather watch the Mets.

It’s a very simple explanation. The last two coaches sucked the dicks of the veterans and refused to play the young players and developed them like role players, which is what they are. Second, there is absolutely no accountability for fucking up. Miller and Zibanedouche have fucked up countless amounts of time. They haven’t even been benched once all fucking season. Third, you have veterans like Kreider with shitty attitudes that have poisoned this team that need to be kicked to the fucking curb. Fourth, the organization needs to make a huge effort to get a couple young and dynamic centers in here. Otherwise they’re gonna fucking blow

It is really something how Kreider packed it in. Zibanejad did too. Barkov destroyed him in the playoffs last year

The only reason to watch is the kids to see what they’ve got in them

Too bad Wayne is a trumper now. Canada does not want to have anything to do with him anymore lol

Why would they accept somebody who supports some lunatic who wants to take over their country lol

For years the top lines performed and the bottom lines were a liability now things are reversed. Time to move on from Lardfreniere before the NTC kicks in if Drury can find a team to take him. There is a very rotten, untradeable core that only a hard nosed coach can break up, I'd still give Messier a shot. All a coach needs is a competent staff and the ability to motivate,

On Kreider, it is amazing how the guy fell off a cliff this season. The past 3 seasons he has had at least 36 goals in each season, and 75 points in two, including last season. I guess when you get old it can hit you like a brick wall, he'll be 34 later this month, which doesn't seem that old, it is what it is.

There will be plenty of time for this, but seeing as Kreider's time as a Ranger is very clearly coming to an end, I do want to give him his due. While inconsistent, especially earlier in his career, the guy got better with age and has been a very good Ranger since he stepped on the ice way back in the 2012 playoffs. That's a long time with the Rangers, many big goals, and a lot of playoff games/series wins. Never fully got over the hump, and it is ending in a terrible way for him and the team, but I say thank you Chris overall, it has been a pleasure watching a very good Ranger perform for 13 years.

What a sad year. Sam leaving after 40 seasons, Kreider going to be gone after 13 seasons, and the team was a mess. Shame. It's going to be a very different feel next season and a very different looking team IMO. A little emotional with Sam going, but hopefully positive steps forwards.

Drury, or whomever the GM is, have some really big decisions to make this summer. Here are a few:

1. What do you do with K. Miller - re-sign him long term or deal him. I say deal him. Schneider MUST be in a top 4 role next season, wasting him on the 3rd pair.
2. Can you move at least Kreider - unlikely they can move Zibanejad, and doubt they want to move Panarin.
3. The core MUST be broken up, and that only happens if at least one, and maybe at least two of Kreider, Zibanejad, Panarin, K. Miller, or Fox go. I think at least two should go, most likely Kreider and K. Miller.
4. What do you do with Lafreniere, he was very bad this season. Down season, or regression to his norm, hopefully just a down season. +/- isn't everything, but he's a -14, only awful Zibanejad is worse at a -21. It may not be smart to deal him off this season and get back a lesser return potentially. Not smart to sell low.
5. Can you add a top-level LD to finally give Fox a legit top partner.
6. Can you add a top player upfront.

There are more questions to answer, but that's a good start. Whomever the GM is needs to be bold, aggressive, and think outside the box. We can be back near the top next season if that happens, and we need to be if we keep our pick this year and next year's # 1 goes to the Pens.

As a fan of this team since the early 60’s it was very disappointing. I read today that our coach doesn’t go into the locker room after games. How is this possible. We do need to clean house. Lavs is gone and if drury isn’t going with him I don’t think much is going to change. Big changes need to be made. I think on defense fox, who does nothing for me needs to go before that NTC kicks in and can actually get something for him and kandre need to go replaced by bigger, stronger and meaner defenseman that arrive at a scene with an attitude. On offense Kreids will not bring back much at this point and he’s been out a few times this year with back issues which is part of the reason for a bad year for him. Zman needs to go, trade him, waive him, threaten him, buy him out , I don’t care just get rid of him. Another guy that gets little to no blowback is trocheck who has been bad. The line I was most happy with was our 4th line with Edstrom, Carrick and Rempe who all hustle, hit and give a shit. Perrault needs to be on the first 2 lines along with Othmann going forward. Laf, for my money has been total shit since he got paid and can go
Also. Panerin, with the right offer can go but wouldn’t look to necessarily give him away as he’s most of our offense. We need youth, speed, size and sandpaper on our offense that can also
Put the puck in the friggin net. Igor gets a lot of shot but for christs sake the guy sees more high danger, breakaways and odd man rushes than any goalie in hockey. He will be fine with even an average defense in front of him and the cap going up the next few years will be able to handle his contract without problem especially after we move a few others. This season is over. Hoping at this point we get into the lottery and are as fortunate as we were with Laf and kakko except hoping for better players of course. Oh well, time to bitch about my Yankees and football giants now!

Well said mel, there needs to be a total house cleaning done. Both Drury and Lav need to go, and I couldn't agree more, if Drury stays, I don't see much changing unfortunately. The stale core needs to change in a major way, hopefully whomever the GM is can get it done.

Othmann has no points but is a plus 8. Before he gives a crap.

I 100% agree with the love for CK, he's been a great Ranger over the years, best case his sharp scoring falloff is due to a back injury, if not it's time to go. It's always frustrating to watch Kucherov when the Rangers have needed a RW forever, guy goes 58th in the draft and is on the brink of 1000 points. It would be interesting to know what the Rangers didn't see in him.

If I was a coach I wouldn’t want anything to do with the team at this point. It’s obvious that the piece of shit veterans have quit on him from early on in the season.

What decent coach WOULD want to be involved with this team and organization at this point? They've gone through coach after coach for the last decade +. There are few if any exciting and supremely talented young players in the system. This team is full of mediocre blah.

It'll be interesting to see who is behind the bench next season, that is for sure.

I wouldn’t mind Messier as at least an assistant coach. They need to bring in someone who will not cater to the vets. Torts is one dimensional. Need someone who can do both defense and offense. Maybe give a shot to Peca

This is the key point, coach after coach for the last decade +. Some people need to wake up to what the issue is here, hint; it's not the MANY coachES. That's not to say Lav has done a good job this season, he hasn't. That also not to say Lav shouldn't be gone after this mess, he should be. It is to say change the coach, but as mel wrote if you keep Drury it doesn't matter. I'd like to say if you keep Dolan it doesn't matter, but unfortunately that isn't changing, and he is the constant for decades, along with Sather, who should have no say in anything anymore (he was a huge driving force in elevating Drury WAY above what his skillset could handle).

It's easy to always blame the coach, coach after coach, after coach, after coach. They are the ones right in front of you calling the shots night after night, but it's lazy and doesn't solve the main problem as we have seen for MANY coachES.

The head of the snake Drury must go also, and the core must change. Drury and the players need to be held accountable as well, or God could be their coach, and it won't matter. Anyone who thinks changing the coach, and making some player tweaks solves the problem is very much missing the boat.

Going to be an interesting off-season,

Looks like they will keep their draft pick this year. So, if they do that I don't see them bringing in a college coach who would be better to work with a team full of kids. They won't want to give the Caschmucks a top 5 pick. They will try to put a good team out next year then go into full tanking mode. I've said it for years. UFA age is too high for hockey players. It should be 6 years in the league or they become a UFA beginning of the off-season if at any point they turn 25 during the next hockey season. We tried a college coach in Quinn. He failed miserably. I would look for a young, successful AHL coach. We had one and dumbass let him go to the Oilers.

Regarding Messier, it would be interesting to see what he is like as a coach but, unless he is the next Scotty Bowman or John Cooper it won't end well. He is one of the few franchise icons, putting him in a position where he is more or less destined to be fired at some point is not what he or the franchise wants.
As it is now, he has what is probably a pretty ideal job as an analyst...he doesn't have to answer to the media, doesn't have the stress/pressure of an excrutiatingly long 82-game season. Yeah, he is an intense and driven guy but I'd be surprised if he was looking to get behind the bench as a head coach.
