I really liked the way it opened. Also Tarly's job sucks, we get it.

The final season seems to be heading towards like a Hobbit Ending -- War of Seven Armies kind of shit.
Meh..yeah, GRRM has been influenced by the Hobbit books, but having just finished The Wheel of Time series, there are even more examples that are blatant.
I read a little bit of the first book of the Wheel of Time series and couldn't get into it that much, are they actually as good as a Song of Ice and Fire and worth trying again?
Hahhaha, oh, yeah...the dreaded first book syndrome. My brother in law had been on me for years to read these books. I would get part way through the first, and put it down. Just could never get past the blah blah blah droning on, so it seemed.
My solution was to pass go and start on the second book. After the third book, the first makes sense. By that time, I was sucked into the story, and had to tear through the entire series.
As far as being as good as Song of Ice and Fire, I have to say yes. Ten times better than The Hobbit books. The guy who finished up the last three books is a fine writer by his own merits. He has a run of books, if I remember correctly, is started by The Way Of Kings, a super good read.
Try it again, but start on the second book, and make it fun to read.
That's how I was with Wheel of Time. I think I probably should try to read it again.I read a little bit of the first book of the Wheel of Time series and couldn't get into it that much, are they actually as good as a Song of Ice and Fire and worth trying again?
I might have to look into that, I've been stuck on getting through the Dark Tower books for a while now.

Does anyone else wonder if Jon and Dany are gonna hook up!?!

Aren't they half-siblings?Does anyone else wonder if Jon and Dany are gonna hook up!?!

I think they'll find out they are related before they do.Does anyone else wonder if Jon and Dany are gonna hook up!?!
There have been a lot of hints through the series of Danerys character growing darker. Then in the last episode, she threatens to burn Varys alive. And she is counciled by that old lady to ignore Tyrion's advice and "be a dragon".Remember the mad king wasn't always mad. Dany will start to go mad herself and Jon will die trying to kill her.
I'm rooting for my cousins, the direwolves, to be in charge.

Not right, the Dothraki and Unsullied were on her "other fleet."I'm glad those Dornish girls are dead (well 2 out of 3 anyway), they were the most annoying characters in the show.
So the fleet that was destroyed was carrying the unsullied and the Dothraki on it right? It was headed to Casterly Rock. If it were utterly destroyed, that means Danerys doesn't have an army, just 3 Dragons. Though the previews of the next episode show unsullied fighting, so some of them must have survived.
I wonder what schemes littlefinger is going to plant into Sansa's mind with John being away. His ultimate dream is to sit on the iron throne with Sansa as his queen.
