Game One will be Saturday afternoon

NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman announced on Boomer and Carton that Game One between the Rangers and either the Bruins or Habs, in either Boston or Montreal, will take place on Saturday afternoon. (TheeFanatic)

The game will be played at 1PM since NBC is broadcasting the Preakness at 4:30PM.

I am guessing, not looking at building availability, that we are looking at:

Saturday, Monday, Wednesday, Friday for games 1-4. If so I will be looking at tickets for game 4 next Friday night. Just don't be 3-0 Boston...LOL.

I am cool with the 1 PM start on the road. Also good for me because I have plans with my GF Saturday night, and told her last night I may have to break the plans (no shot I miss an ECF game), and of course we didn't talk until an hour ago when I told her it looks like the game will be at 1 not 7....

I am sure the NHL loves these randomly timed early afternoon games. This is because the Preakness is on. I would guess Sunday the WCF game one will be on at 3 on NBC...that is a better time.

the league is a partner in the decision making, this is not just a NBC decision....what I don't get is why NBC would want any day games on a Saturday....the weather is getting warm, I got yard work to do!

I guess the options are this Al. 12:30 on NBC since the Preakness is on OR 7 PM on NBCSN.

I guess they raher be on NBC direct earlier than NBCSN at night. The best situation would be NBC at 7 or 8, but they won't do that until the SCF.

7 on NBCSN is definitely the smarter move...its not like baseball where you can put it on the background and still do things around the house...this sucks!

ecf not considered primetime? ps hockey is the most exciting sporting event imo... people just don't know whats good for em
