Even the Thunder writers are starting to dog on WestBrick:

Westbrook said that wasn't the designed play, but he just made a choice to break off and get the ball. That's what Brooks describes as a "tough decision."

Either way, it was Westbrook freelancing in the moment instead of staying within the parameters of what was called. Like the terrible technical, Westbrook is forever a maverick, operating by his own laws. Is that on Brooks for giving his player too long of a leash? Or is that just life with Westbrook, where you only get the great stuff because you're willing to cope with the bad?

The Thunder haven't had that answer for going on five years now. They probably aren't going to find it any time soon.

Scottie Pippen just stayed seated. Westbrook broke off his play to get the ball. :dunno:
