Game Thread: Clipper v. Blazers

I'm just watching the boxscore get updated but it appears that with both Rudy and Bayless in there, Rudy is being more the distributor (PG) while Bayless is playing SG.

Mind you, Bayless is doing well in that role but he does not seem to be doing himself any favors in earning PG minutes.

Gramps...

I can't figure out Outlaw.. in the only Blazer game I saw in person last year (v. Charlotte in Mar) he looked like the consumate basketball stud. Almost effortless and got 28. Apparently he is still highly streaky.

That's the difference between an average player and a good player; anybody can go off on a given night (or a number of nights) but it's being consistent that makes somebody good.

I guess Greg didn't get credit for that block Wheels called....

They better have some highlights for this game with all these dunks Greg is throwing down!

They took 2 points away from Oden and only has 10 points but he just made another shot for 12 points.

Always nice to see in the +/- category when all the pluses are our way, and all the Clippers have negatives.

Wheels in midseason form, complaining about two points given to Roy instead of Oden Jr.

Shooting below 50% from the "charity" stripe is pretty terrible. These are professional basketball players we're talking about.

Wheels isn't leaving the building until they give Greg his 2 points back!

Bayless: 12 points, 5-6 FG, 2 assists in only 15 mins. Man.. how is this guy going to get PT this year.

Pretty nice job by Oden tonight (Joel too!) going up against Kaman, one of the better centers in the league. 14 points, 13 boards, 1 assist, 1 block, and and 2 personal fouls in only 29 minutes of action.

Travis had an interesting stat line: 9 points, 1 reb, 1 ast, 1 stl, 1 block, 1 TO, 1 foul, 1-1 3PT

Alright . . . couple pre-season wins. Oden sounded great . . . he is the muscle in the middle. Roy will lead the team and Aldridge will be the steady force on both ends.

Throw in a little Rudy flair, Joel toughness, Outlaw streakiness and Blake's steadiness . . . and I think this Blazer team is ready for the challenge of that first part of the season.

I think you add 5 or 6 minutes another 2 assists and 1 more block to that stat line and I think that is what he will average this season.

While Kaman finish with 6 points, 7 boards. He did have 4 assists and 2 block shots.

One thing that has really jumped out at me so far this pre-season is number of fast break points and points off of turnovers the Blazers are generating, they really seem to be capitalizing on their athleticism and feeling more comfortable with Oden and Przybilla backing them up.
