Alright . . . couple pre-season wins. Oden sounded great . . . he is the muscle in the middle. Roy will lead the team and Aldridge will be the steady force on both ends.

Throw in a little Rudy flair, Joel toughness, Outlaw streakiness and Blake's steadiness . . . and I think this Blazer team is ready for the challenge of that first part of the season.

I'm still not convinced of that, given we're talking about beating a Clippers team that didn't play Baron Davis, Ricky Davis, Tim Thomas, or Marcus Camby... (Just referring to the brutal first few weeks of our schedule, I think we'll have a good year.)

Oden had a good night though.

It might just be me, but just in the last 2-3 weeks Oden looks to be in better shape than the 1st pre-season game.

agreed, and despite dominating in the fourth the first have contained nothing impressive.

Yeah, he does. He's doing exactly what we need even now, score 14-15 pts, grab double-digit rebounds, be a presence. He's just going to get better. Kind of scary..

There's some final "stat tallying" going on at staples. Maybe Oden will get the points Roy stole from him? (Yes, I'm being a bit sarcastic)

I'm just watching the boxscore get updated but it appears that with both Rudy and Bayless in there, Rudy is being more the distributor (PG) while Bayless is playing SG.

Mind you, Bayless is doing well in that role but he does not seem to be doing himself any favors in earning PG minutes.

Gramps...
if rudy and roy are both capable of running the offense, why does bayless need to be fighting for pg minutes?

Mike Rice calling in as "Thomas" in the Fifth quarter... hahaha. hilarious...

Game thread on BBF started by a person I've never heard of and there are 0 posts! I think S2 is officially our new home!

Sad, I was a user @ BBF for like 6 years as OntheRocks.... I don't write in much but I read pretty much every thread. Gonna go with Bosco this time around tho.

Great stat line:

Oden's line:
14 points, 13 boards, 1 assist, 1 block, 2 personal fouls in 29 mins.

Kaman's:
6 points, 7 boards, 4 assist, 2 block, 1 personal foul in 32 mins.

Remember when D.Dickau was in the starting L.A.C. lineup for a while. Now he is cut. I bet he would have made a difference tonight!

Wow... looking at the highlights on TV... Oden's hops look like they're coming back. Very very impressive, along with Rudy's defense, and behind the back pass to Aldridge for the dunk.
We're like a highlight show every night.

The first move he used to get around Kaman speaks volumes as to how quick and how talented this guy is. I don't think there is anyone in the league with that combination of speed and footwork in such a large frame.

Did Oden smack the glass? How soon till he get's his first "T" for hanging? Love watching it though. You can see his progression from game to game.

You see in the second dunk when Oden is heading for the dunk a guy comes over to contend and then decides to just get the fuck out of the way? :)

That first dunk of the game was impressive. Not the power, but the quickness of the move. That was a nice up and under that we haven't seen from him yet.

I was really impressed with Roy, Oden and Bayless last game...

Aldridge and Batum had off nights.. Rudy was fine, he is going to be great though... Outlaw didn't play too well again, imo. I liked Frye and Pryz a lot.

Overall though, we did not play well on the offensive end. Very impressed with our D and rebounding, but our offense just wasn't there. We have to continue to get better.

But i hope that we rest our main 3 players today as its the final game and we got a back to back... i would just really like to make sure we are relatively healthy goin' into the year.

I really miss Martell... :(

I think i'd start Batum just because I like Rudy off the bench a lot. the Sergio/Bayless matchup is going to be fun to watch. It is still Sergio's though, imo. He is a better PG. I think Bayless is more battling for the starters minutes with Blake, as i think he would be amazing with Roy... and they would easily be one of, if not the best backcourts in the NBA in a couple years, imo.

Watching the game that is completely true. If I was king (coach), I would have Roy as PG in the first unit and Rudy as PG with the second unit and maybe get some help from the little guards in bringing the ball up. Everything flows better when going through Roy and Rudy.

Bayless looked good, but it was alway looking for his own shot. Why fight it.

Yeah, well when Bayless is in he would dribble the ball up the court and defend PGs, but Rudy or Roy would be the ones that are the playmakers and set things up. I think that was the plan with Bayless... he CAN set things up, and would sometimes, but he would be more effective off the ball just as Roy/Rudy would be more effective ON the ball.

Which is why i think Bayless is fighting for Blake minutes more so than Sergio's.
