GAME THREAD: HEAT @ BLAZERS - 12/28/13, SATURDAY, 7 PM (PST), KGW

I really disagree with the argument about odds. This argument actually ignores "the odds."

Portland leads the NBA in 3pt% and FT% it's not odds that they lost in the last minute. It's dumb luck that the Heat won in the last minute.

Granted the larger picture was Portland knew Miami would be in the passing lanes, and continued to gift them the ball. 17 turnovers. Sloppy.

Wait....it's not the odds but it's dumb luck? Love it! Luck/odds...seems like those are somewhat related.

I hate to think what will happen here if they lose to OKC on Tuesday.

Shit would be getting real. However, even with Westbrook out, I don't think we're going to win. They just play damn good at home. So, it shouldn't surprise anyone or set off the trolls (realistically), but then again, trolls don't live in reality, so that's a moot point.

Had many chances to put this one away, just wasn't our night! Get em next time! Bosh was a beast!

This was one of my fears of Bosh against LMA. Now, I know Bosh was at the 5... but anytime LMA gets stretched, he's just not quick enough. I had a bad feeling about Bosh having a good night... DAMNIT!

LaMarcus has always, ALWAYS been tempted to guard smaller guys. He loves to switch onto guard, double onto guards, etc. it's a habit he needs to break, because it blows up when a team has a PF/C who can drill it from distance.

well, one thing is for certain. If they lose to OKC, after losing to Miami, it proves that...well, they need work on defense and that's something we already knew about.

So...yay?

Shout out to Nico for doing everything he could to win this game tonight! LaMarcus just went cold at the end.

I'm not sure if it's just his nature or if it was drilled into being a habit because of 6 years under Nate.

You said, "the odds caught up with them on one night." The odds are in Portland's favor, and still are. That was my point.

If the odds are not in your favor, and you win, then we call that luck no?

Exactly!

I think he wants a shot at a big block... More boring to stand around guarding some stiff.

Damnit, everytime I hear "odds in your favor" I always go to Hunger Games. And that movie sucked.

We can't be to hard on LA with his skull on fire and liquid diet, but I REALLY wanted him to hit that game winner. SUCKS so bad. :(

I just hate to give up a three when we're up by two.... it's not a great defensive scheme.

Maybe we should be talking to Houston about Asik. We need interior defense.

I thought that was going in too. Wes also wishes he could do that lob over that he missed. Blazers really squandered an opportunity to beat a Jamesless Heat.

Would Asik have stopped Bosh?

EDIT: oh those are two different statements.

I wonder if they want Mo Williams? The Blazers need to bench in for Earl Watson.

I like that you comment on so many of my posts....I like you too.

Fun fact: LMA has 9,999 points. It would have been great if that was his 10,001 point at the end!

I think having a center that plays the pick and roll well would help this team immensely. I don't think there's much that could have been done about Bosh. The dude was like four feet behind the line. I never would have guessed that he was going to take/make that shot.

Adding a really good defensive center like Asik would help keep us out of a situation where we NEED to play defense with 7 seconds left.

No need to really freak out over losing a game to the Heat, they are a good team even without LeBron. If Wade makes half of the shots he took in the second half we lose this game by 12 pts. The Blazers are going to lose another game before the playoffs so....no need to blow up the team tomorrow or fire the coach

CJ needs to hurry up and come back. Our bench scoring is still horrible.

Troll! Just because they are bottom 3 in the league doesn't mean you can comment on it. You aren't a real Blazer fan. :ghoti:

Wow. Take it easy Trek-ee. I like reading most of your opinions, and responses that say "I actually read and understood what you wrote." Don't push your "dumb luck"!
