:reading:BLAZERS' GAME NOTES
• Portland has won eight of its past 10 contests against Charlotte dating back to the 2008-09 season.

• The Hornets haven’t won in Portland since Mar. 29, 2008. Since that time, The Trail Blazers have won six consecutive games at home against Charlotte.

• In two matchups last season, the home team was victorious by 30 points. Portland won the first meeting at the Moda Center, 134-104, while the Hornets won 124-94 on March 22, 2014. LaMarcus Aldridge was inactive in Portland's loss due to a lower back contusion.

• In their 134-104 victory against Charlotte last season on Jan. 2, 2014, the Trail Blazers tied a franchise mark for 21 3-point fi eld goals. Damian Lillard shot 6-of-6 from beyond the arc, while Wesley Matthews made five of his six attempts from deep. The Trail Blazers also set a franchise record for most 3-pointers made in a half (12). Portland's 134 point output marked its 2nd highest point total in 2013-14.

• Dorell Wright scored a season-high 17 points (6-12 FG, 5-5 FT) in Charolotte during the Hornets' 124-94 victory on March 22, 2014.

• In that game on Jan. 2, Portland’s 134 point output marked its second highest point total in 2013-14.

Abbreviated game preview for tonight. Totally my fault on this one:

Our last game: Great Success! against an overmatched DEN squad, the offense went off 116-100.

Their last game:Charlotte fell to 0-3 on the road following Sunday's 107-92 loss to the previously winless Los Angeles L*kers.

Gerald Henderson was been a staple in the Bobcats' rotation for four years, so it's weird to see him riding the pine for the Hornets. But their offense hasn't been so awful with P.J. Hairston on the floor. Lance Stephenson needs to go glass on all his 3-pointers, because Friday's game-winner is the only 3 he's hit all season.

ESPN.com (17)
Lance Stephenson was 0-for-7 from long range for the season before banking in that crazy game winner to stun the Hawks. But who else thought that double-OT win, combined with a long-awaited victory over Miami, would have set them up for anything but a beatdown by the lowly Lakers?

Covers.com(16)
The Hornets are 1-3 and lucky not to be 0-4. They needed a huge come from behind effort just to beat Milwaukee for their only win of the season.

Trust the medical staff! If Nico needs to sit, they know best. Rather he miss these next two games than others games against better teams.

The bench is going to have to win this one for us.

I think the matchup tonight is whoever guards Al Jefferson. He seems to play well against us. Get him in early foul trouble and we should be ok

Now we'll get to see if the "cupping" treatment really works

Holy crap. I can't believe we're in the top 10 for benches by any measure!

These are based on last years shots but might still give an indicator of hot spots for their starters.

I have firm conviction that we will be one of the better benches in the league. We may not score as many as other teams, but our intangibles will be way up there.

There is a reason why our bench has been able to sustain or increase leads, even if the bench isn't really scoring.

Just got in, is Dorell for sure starting or is that just a projection?

Not sure the motive behind that but this kid is given a real chance, he needs to step up and show he can help contribute.
