I'll take every "UGLY" win we can get. They all look the same April 16th!

LaMarcus Aldridge: 2FG% = .473
Kevin Love: 2FG% = .378

BNM

Some of you guys are too easily impressed. I was referring to shot percentange on long jumpers, not 2pt FG%.

Among qualified PFs in the NBA LaMarcus is ranked 40th of 71 in true shooting percentage, Kevin Love is ranked 27.

One stat Damian has really improved on this year is fg% on drives. He's at 55.5% now. 4% better than James Harden, 3% worse than Tony Parker.

Known penetrators like Lawson and Evans are at 38 and 23%.

Odd that you would narrow it down to something like that. Oh that's right, because it favors your argument!

What's even better is he is finishing on tough shots. Parker and Harden get bailed out a lot more and get easier looks.

Not to speak for him, but I think it's germane because no one, NO ONE on this board disputes that LMA isn't a beast inside the paint when he goes in there. But when complaining about his shot selection, bringing up his total FG% (which is brought down by his jumpers to 40th or whatever sinobas said) and not his percentage on jumpers isn't speaking to the argument.

His eFG% is not good either. Any way you slice it, LA is NOT an efficient scorer. He can get his shot off, and thus, will score a lot given enough volume, but he's not efficient. I'm just saying, cut back on the bad shots and let other guys get shots within the flow of the offense.

BTW, isn't it logical to find stats that support your argument?

Except for sinobas

Of course I would love him to take it inside more, but his mid range game is actually pretty good. It's especially good to open up things for Lopez or Kaman down low. If you haven't noticed, see how well their inside games are.

Also notice how Lillard has much more freedom to work the offense. That mid range threat after the pick is the start of a lot of that.

it's like I keep saying, though...LMA is a threat. Lining up at 18 feet to receive the ball, or running pick-and-pops, isn't the problem. Taking the shot if he's wide open or against a smaller defender isn't the problem. Taking contested shots (or worse, contested shots against a double-team) does nothing more or less to help "spacing" or "freedom to work the offense". The defenders are already keyed on LMA, so someone's going to have a better/easier/more efficient shot.

Bosh makes his 10-24' jumpers, contested or otherwise, at a 44% clip. Scola's at 45%. Dirk's is 47%. The others use a 3point shot (like LMA is this year) to increase spacing and/or pull out defenders even more. LMA's at 41%. Even K*be's at 43%. (all numbers career, but for guys long enough in the league for the curves to smooth out)
