PORTLAND, Oregon (Ticker) -- The Portland Trail Blazers will tryto build off their recent success when they host the MemphisGrizzlies on Friday.
After suffering three straight losses on the road, the Blazersheld on for a 93-90 triumph over the then-undefeated New OrleansHornets on Wednesday.
With fans having to wait until next season to finally see No. 1overall selection Greg Oden take the floor, the trio of MartellWebster, Brandon Roy and LaMarcus Aldridge have been the mainattractions this season.
Webster has more than doubled his average from last season, Royis becoming the go-to player in crunch time and Aldridge providesthe much needed scoring in the paint.
The Grizzlies also picked up their first win of the season afterhanding the Seattle SuperSonics a 105-98 setback at KeyArena onWednesday.
Rudy Gay scored 25 points and Mike Miller chipped in 20 asMemphis help first-year coach Marc Iavaroni earn his firstcareer win.
"We dug in," Iavaroni said. "I think the guys realized theywere in a fight, and on the road you have to fight to win. Itdoesn't matter if the other team has an undefeated record or ifthey are in the same situation as you, trying to get their firstwin."
Grizzlies rookie guard Mike Conley, who was the fourth overallpick in the draft, made his first appearance of the season whenhe entered the game with 8:32 remaining in the second quarter.He scored just two points on 1-of-5 shooting.
