GAME THREAD: Warriors @ Blazers 4/5/11, 7 PM - The Playoff Clincher?

Have you been watching? He's made big defensive plays, he had a put back dunk the other day, he has played some point effectively, developing a good relationship with Aldridge and Wallace for easy baskets. I don't need stats to be pleased with how he is playing. He's always active and involved. Last year at this time, he didn't even care.

He's shooting 38% from the field and 33% from three. That's bad. Isn't he supposed to be a good three point shooter? The truth is he's not above average for a guard. That's supposed to be his main asset. Yeah he has some flashes of doing other things but he's really just not that good. I agree with RoyToy, I hope this is his last season on the Blazers.

A) We crushed the Cavs, a team that beat the Heat and Lakers. We've done fine against bad teams.

Cleveland. Ya got me there. Cancel everything I said.

B). It's a GOOD thing that we win when we psyched up for big games. "Big games" are all we'll be playing in the playoffs.

We win only when we outwork the opponent. In the playoffs, they're just as psyched up as we are. So we lose. You need a good system, not just a work ethic, and that's all McMillan has.

C) The Bobcats have dominated the Lakers over the last several years. Does that mean Phil Jackson isn't a good coach? Nate is a very good coach that has got this team to the playoffs for the third straight year despite losing Oden for another season and dealing with the fact that Roy has been crippled for the rest of his career.

This is just one of those games. EVERY team in the NBA has these games. Even the champs and the super team Heat. Give them a break. They're human. They lost a game, not my support.

"One of those games" means it catches you by surprise. GS has beaten us 16 of the last 23. I saw this coming a mile away, you did, everyone did except "the Motivator."

Holy crap -- what a shellacking. Nothing quite like getting bitch-slapped into the playoffs...

What kind of hold do the Warriors have on us? We better avenge this loss when we meet them again in 8 days.

Curry/Ellis own Miller

Miller had 2 assists tonight, btw

I want PapaG's take on Miller tonight

But we haven't won a season series against them in 8 years now. And they've been a bad team for a lot of those years.

They have a really shitty defensive philosophy. They gamble and reach on every single possession, but when they face shaky ball handlers, they can take some serious advantage. Dre was completely absent tonight, and Roy had 0 confidence. Our guards killed us with really unsteady play early that set the tone for the rest of the game.

Then Roy and Rudy combined to shoot 3-20. And we shot 3-21 from 3 as a whole. That's game.

What is going on here?

Memphis, Houston, Portland, and LA all lose to teams worse than them AT HOME

With the Blazers tied in the loss column with NO they really can't afford one more loss the rest of the season.

We have
@ Jazz
Lakers
Grizzlies
@ Warriors

The Hornets have
Rockets
Suns
@ Grizzlies
Utah
@ Mavs

Both schedules seem comparable. It's probably gonna come down to the last couple games.

That was a brutal loss! Oh well, gotta get over it and get ready to beat the Jazz, Lakers, and Grizz... then get revenge on the Warriors to finish out the regular season.

I had the misfortune of being at that game last night. The Blazers seemed to be half a step slow in the first half. I suspect they might have seen that HOU lost at half time - because the 2nd half was brutal.
