Michael Kay just mentioned something on his show which is quite amazing. Gardner and McCann have the 1st and 3rd worst batting averages in baseball since the AS Break. That raises the question do you start Young tomorrow night over Gardner. How do you not?

...^^^against a LHer with a knee buckling slider?...definitely Young over Gardner.

In a one and done scenario you can't let sentiment cloud your judgement. Young had a couple of hits off of him this season. Murphy also had a couple of hits off of him as well.

Damn, I was not aware of that stat.....not smelling rosy, more like smelling the manure that fertilizes the rose, enabling its perfume smell

Starting Young would be the smart move but.............................................

...yeah, and they might ought to start Murphy in place of McCann. ...yeah, I know, It won't happen.

I don't know what happened with McCann, the man was cruisin' and brusin' then hit a wall. The Yankees won't be hurting with Murph in there, from what I've heard the Yankees Staff is confident in his abilities. Gardner didn't hit a wall he ran through it and never returned.

McCann was doing great. Was on his way to an incredible offensive season. Still put up great homer and RBI numbers. Perhaps there was an injury somewhere along the way.

Nathan Eovaldi (elbow) threw a Simulated Game Monday and is confident he'll be available as a reliever for the ALDS should the Yankees advance as per Meredith Marakovits.

ESPN Deportes Marly Rivera reports that Chasen Shreve will not be on the Yankees Wild Card roster.

John Ryan Murphy could start over Brian McCann as catcher in Tuesday's AL Wild Card Game as per Buster Olney.

That would be the logical move Lillie but I just don't see it happening.

lol, u know i wouldn't be surprised by this at all, even though every other coach, even the ones we haven't yet interviewed on mars starts mccann, its a 1 game playoff do or die... you don't die with murphy or chris jones.... but heck, what we have seen from #28 as of late should surprise any 1

I don't doubt we see McCann but the main point was should Young start over Gardner which I think he should.

Considering a lefty is going for Houston would Young over Gardner really be that ridiculous?

2015
Chris Young 318AB .252 14hrs 42RBI .320 OBP
Bret Gardner 571AB .259 16hrs 66RBI .343 OBP

Career Postseason Numbers
Chris Young 43AB .326 5hrs 9RBI .453 OBP
Bret Gardner 65AB .215 0hrs 7RBI .257 OBP

...more telling is Young's splits vs LHed pitching; .327 .397 .575 .972
