Ellsbury a lock in CF. Gardner in LF, Beltran in RF at home
Gardner in RF and Soriano in LF on the road.

How does this work on long home/road stretches and the DH/rest spot?

Honestly I think anyway you look at it Gardner is in LF with Soriano as his fill in & Beltran is your everyday RFer with Ichiro filling in from time to time. JMO.

Not disagreeing with you, that is the most probable. But saw that Gardner promoted the idea of playing RF. Too bad we couldn't put Soriano in the way back machine and have him play 2B.

I tend to agree with you, depending only on who may be pitching, Gardner in left, Ells in CF and Beltran in RF is our best defense. When Soriano plays it may be easier to hide him in RF.
