Kevin Garnett isn’t ready to start the playoffs, and Boston Celtics coach Doc Rivers said Thursday that there’s a strong possibility that he will miss the entire postseason.

“He’s not going to be ready. After watching him practice, there’s no way,” Rivers said on WEEI-AM. “The way I saw him move today, I don’t know if he’ll be ready.”

When asked to clarify, Rivers said there was a chance Garnett could be out for the rest of the season. Celtics spokesman Jeff Twiss said he could not elaborate on Rivers’ comments.

The Celtics begin the best-of-seven first round series against the Chicago Bulls on Saturday.

“We’re going to move on without him,” Rivers said.

Wow... Boston's done. Cleveland now has an easy path to the NBA Finals. The Celtics were really only built for a few years anyway. But at least they got that one championship.

You get the point. FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK

Old meet done?
If he's healthy next year, there's still another year left in this team. Rondo's continued ascension will account for minor fall-offs from Ray and KG (I doubt Pierce sees a real decline). Alternatively, we could take a risk, unload Ray's expiring, and try to lure another star in Boston in 2010, and extend our run further. Doubt that happens though.

Even if Boston only gets one title out of their deals last year it would be totally worth it.

Though with all the miles on KG, I don't know if he is ever going to be physically right ever again. Unfortunately, he is signed until 2012 I think.

Exactly. I do think about what could have been sometimes (trading Pierce for #3 in 2005, then picking Chris Paul and teaming him with Al Jefferson), but the ultimate goal was reached, if only once.

I'm really broken up over this news. The biggest douchebag in the game isn't going to be able to play in the post season? Say it ain't so!

Hey, KG, sorry to hear about your injury. I heard that a really good physical therapy for bad knees is to get down on your hands and knees and bark like a dog.

Bitch.

I love posts like this. Nothing screams 'butthurt' quite like a KG is Hitler post.

Aww! So him getting on all fours and barking like a dog during a game was all for not?

I'm broken up over this. I really am. Wow.

He's going to have a hard time taunting opposing guards from the bench.

Oh, did KG get his 'butthurt', while doing the doggie move one time? Who did the honors? Something tells me it was "Big Baby".

Oh that's clever. Want a cookie?

Why don't you bake some cookies for Kevin Garnett. Send them along with a picture of yourself in his patented Doggie-style position.

Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy.

F Garnett.
and for good measure...F Ray Allen with his crotch elbowing ass.

Anyone that is enjoying the bad news about KG has no soul IMO.

That's just me though. ;)

Why so worried? I'm not. Then again, I'm no Celtics fan.

I honestly hope you didn't expect more than a title or two. I mean, the Celtics picked up some talent quick, but at that age......

We had a realistic shot at two titles.

Plus I'm the prototypical Boston sports fan. The minute last season's title was won, I was thinking about this season within 10 minutes. ;)

Look for the refs to bend over backwards trying to keep the Celtics alive.

The usual manipulation "for the good of the league" will be increased.

I want to see all teams at full health for the playoffs. I'd really love to see a healthy McGrady for Houston as that would significantly increase my confidence level in the Blazers making the second round. For everyone else, it's about beating teams with no excuses and watching entertaining and competitive basketball. I want the Cavs to have more than a speedbump to the finals. Without KG, it's going to be tough for the Celts.
