Any way we can close THIS thread and start a NEW gas thread. Don’t like seeing that name PapaG on the main page FAMS!

NE Portland today from my sister

Trump paid a French company $1 billion in taxpayer money to break contract to build wind turbines. Trump lost a lawsuit in Scotland over wind turbines he claimed hurt the view from his golf course and since then has hated wind power. Besides, we are much better burning fossil fuels, right?

Of course. Given enough time and natural selection, humans should be able to convert to an environment with Phoenix-like temperatures in Portland and breathing primarily carbon dioxide.

Filled up for $3.49 here last week, granted my previous fill was 2.19 about two weeks before that. I know we got up over $4 for a brief time a few years ago but we pretty much hover in the 2.50 to 2.99 mark for the most part.

It’s always so much cheaper down in that part of the country. Fantastic for you guys. Paid $5.95 today, sigh.

I read before that Oregon and other West coast states require a blend of gas that burns cleaner for the environment but costs more, which is a big part of the reason it's so much cheaper in the Republican states that have zero regulations on that.

FAMS!
My car has a 20 gallon tank.
I pulled into the gas station on completely empty this morning. Don’t normally do that, but wanted to see something.
I prepaid $75 of premium and pulled out with a 60% full tank! GOD DAMN!!!!! Luckily 6 months out of the year I barely drive my car, so I hadn’t put gas into it in over month!

Next time you pay 8% surcharge to mail a package due to increase in oil prices, remember, Biden administration put in place a well funded program to transition post office to electric vehicles and Trump killed it.

$125 to fill my truck yesterday... Need to find a couple totaled Leafs and do a conversion...
Kind of surprised to read the gas prices have had nearly zero demand increase for EVs. Maybe we'll see some of this if it hits $5 or $6 a gallon (vs national avg $4). Pretty wild in 2022 when EVs were going for 20k above sticker price.

I always thought the concept of the ram EV truck was great, could drive 130+ miles electric only but could run with gas if you don't want to wait for charging.

Also for towing that Ram would be nice. EV have great power for towing but the range is horrific.

I think as gas prices hold you'll see prices on EVs come up a bit. But honestly, people are just broke right now. I don't think they are looking at buying new cars.

I've been following DeBoss Garage and Edison on their journey to create a diesel electric hybrid retrofit kit. Supposedly will come with warranty, etc.
