Where is CrandC with her rants about fairness and loving people?
You guys finally ran her off.
A couple of things:
It seems like a lot of you are reacting from a misleading thread title then from the actual article. The article was written on May 24, 2012. Also they were not banning straight people. They were banning bachelorette parties. In the article there was the statement from the bar. No where does it say it was banning straight people.
"Every Friday and Saturday night, we're flooded with requests from straight girls in penis hats who want to ogle our go-gos, dance with the gays and celebrate their pending nuptials. They are completely unaware that the people around them are legally prohibited from getting married," said David Cooley, Founder of The Abbey. "Over the past 22 years, The Abbey has been a place that accepts everyone, gay, straight, lesbian, transgender, bisexual and everything in between. We love our straight girlfriends and they are welcome here, just not for bachelorette parties."
It has long been a policy at The Abbey to deny admission to groups in costume, including Bachelorette regalia. Bachelorette parties had previously been allowed inside if they removed their costumes. The Abbey's 'bachelorette ban' comes on the heels of a ban on gay marriage in North Carolina and a number of other states across the South. The Abbey encourages other gay-owned and operated establishments to institute their own bans as a sign of solidarity until marriage is legal everywhere for everyone.
So the ban wasn't on straight people but what they wore. Many clubs have dress codes. No saggy pants, no gang symbols, no jeans, no hoodies, etc.
Not sure what some of you want to sue about.
Not even sure the ban against bachelorette parties is still in effect considering that same sex marriage is legal in California.
Maybe some of you could go undercover dressed as bachelorettes and see if you aren't allowed in the club.

Hey these bars even discriminate over themselves!
http://www.gopusa.com/news/2014/08/05/gay-bar-found-guilty-of-discrimination/
Here is a case where a man dressed in drag was not allowed into a gay bar.
Wait, you're surprised that people reacted to the headline and not the actual article?
You mean facts make a difference?!?
Wait, so people take quotes and assume that's what they believe?
Newsflash... I've been to this bar and they definitely discriminate over straight people. I've seen bartenders and waiters take their time on a straight party, while serving the gay group next to them. It's weird that you and sly just assume that this behavior is okay, yet someone saying "sorry I can't wes you because it goes against my religion" is wrong.
That isn't the first time you've assumed something about my beliefs, it's odd that you do that.

What behavior are talking about? Yes, I'm pro dress code! I'm also against underage drinking.
