If you are married, you receive benefits from your state and with gay marriage, more money from the states will be shelled out.2. Politicians allow the law up to the states because of fear that if there opinion on this is made public it could sway votes one way or another. Therefore, many votings say no to this in fear of not getting re-elected.</span></span>
