I celebrate freedom in all of its forms. That's why--although I understand it's a deliberate provocation--I support allowing a mosque to be built near Ground Zero. I doubt it will ever be built (see if you can get mob-controlled contractors to deliver concrete or if the Ironworkers Union will ever agree to work on the site). However, government shouldn't have the right to discriminate, so as long as it's an allowed use, I support it's approval.

However, I hope in the spirit of the understanding the builders of this mosque demand of us, they fully support their new neighbor's application: http://www.outsidethebeltway.com/ga...ampaign=Feed:+OTB+(Outside+The+Beltway+|+OTB)

Wahhabists, keep reaching for that rainbow!

That's great until the bar gets blown up (no pun intended).

Why would it? All in the name of tolerance? If the bar gets blown up, it looks like the detractors of the mosque would be proven correct!

Me, too. My one wish in life is to give Osama bin laden a good laugh, and that would definitely do it. I can see him now, sitting in his cave watching CNN and slapping his leg in disbelief . . .

Supporting freedom means supporting things with which you may not agree. To those folks, it would be a great insult to us. We should show them that it means nothing by allowing it without objection. If you really want to put someone in their place, show them they're not even worthy of getting upset.

I love the idea of putting a gay bar next door. I'd like for a Jewish community center to move on the other side and across the street put a strip club and a driving school for females only. Fuck 'em if they can't take true freedom.

Sometimes I  you.

I think they should've just put a Walmart in there at ground zero and called it done. 3 months after 9/11 that fucker would be built and in business. None of this 10 years of a giant fucking hole in the ground bullshit.

And if the terrorists blow up that Walmart? Guess what--there'll be another one of those fuckers built three more months after that.

Even the terrorists are smart enough to know you can destroy freedom, but you can't kill Walmart.

Going a little OT, here, but my wish on that asshole is that after he is caught, he is sentenced to fly commercial around the country non-stop until he dies around the US - would serve the fucker right.

I don't have a problem with any of that. However, if it were legal to put a gun store across the street from Columbine I would hope that nobody would do it.

They seem to want to build this, so my idea is to build a new Twin Towers that is built OVER the top of this Mosque and paint a big bull's eye on the thing with the words "bring it on fuckers" painted on the sides of the buildings.

Ji-hot, Grind Zero, You Mecca Me Hot, Ramadam, Turban Cowboy, Suspicious Packages, there's a million of them!

Tivo season pass. Its the best news show on TV...its like they got a talk radio show on TV.

Somehow I don't think Muslims around the world would get the irony. All they would know is that from the ashes of Ground Zero rose the largest Muslim mosque in the U.S. That's a feather in their cap, and just one more reason to mock us.

That's a fair point.
