Message to George: Come back to reality bitch! You're not that good, and you probably won't get re-signed by Dallas anyways! Move on, and get yo scrubby ass outta the NBA!

Jones has a player option for next season at $2mm. he's not expiring.
 
It's not a no trade clause, it's Early Bird Rights. Basically he loses those on the trade and loses money on his next contract.....but looking at him, he's going to basically become a 1 year minimum guy from here to the end. Didn't he use the Nets one year to get a bigger deal somewhere else? LA maybe?
 
i seriously belive he will waive his bird rights and the deal willl go through, if he doesnt waive them by today then i dont think it will happen

evryone in dallas will boo him if he blocks this from happening, fans were already booing last night especially after his 0-11 performance lol

Jerry Stackhouse just went on the Stephen A. Smith show on 1050 ESPN AM radio and stated "the only piece we're really losing from our championship run in this trade is DeSagana"

he wants Kidd in Dallas, now if your Devin Harris one of the captains on the Mavs said flatout we can do better w/o you.
 
While I'm kind of mad that George is being such an ass about the trade, I wouldn't be too sad to see Kidd stay until the offseason.

i really cant see that happening, both teams including players except for george it appears already have the mindset that they will be playing for a new team after the break. this is will get done
 
George wants something and is holding cuban hostage.

In my mind this is ridiculous, he wasn't getting more than the vet minimum in his new deal. Now with this stunt he isn't even going to sniff an S&T with the Mavs.

With all due respect, what would your reaction had been had Ray Allen rejected the trade to the Celtics, and a Nets fan had said "Can't blame him for not wanting to go to a bad team."

KG rejected the trade to the Celtics at first, if you remember. There was nothing to be said. We needed to be a better team first, then try and get him. Thats how NBA works.


Your GM and owners are to be blamed for putting your team into this mess, where not even a scrub wants to come to play for. Who the hell is George? (not even top 200 probably)

how do you know george doesnt want to come to the nets because we are not a contender?

he already said it has to do with the money he would be "losing" by waiving his bird rights, not because he doesnt want to play for the nets organization

again, you're reading too much into this. You don't know anything about George's motivation or his mindset. For instance, perhaps he has a family, with young children, and he doesn't want to live away from them for the next three months. To claim that he doesn't "want to come play for" the Nets because the team is a "mess" is speculative at best, and dishonest and malicious at worst.

Is LA a bad place since Payton left it for Miami?
Mike Finley left Dallas for SA and I'm sure it isn't a bad place.

We aren't going to try and cover up that we had any chance at winning a championship at this point and we aren't going to pay Kidd 50 million to be okay with that knowing that as long as he has the money, he's happy. Kidd has many reasons why he would like to be traded from wives to just wanting a fresh start.
 
When you really think about it, it kinda makes me pissed. A guy who thinks he's a starter or some Kobe Bryant character blocks a deal that both teams win on because he might not make enough money next year.

We should be like the Toronto fans and boo Deavon every time he touches the ball...

...so really only in warmups.

Mid-life crisis. Seriously. Just went through an ugly divorce. He wants a change of scenery and he wants to try and win a championship.
 
Yea, Dave D said Thorn and Kiki are in NO right now. Kidd will probably take 20,000 hit to skip the media availability part of the weekend. If this deal does get going, it won't be until sunday at the earliest.
 
Easiest solution is to throw in Eddie Jones, he said he would walk if he's dealt. So he doesn't show. YOu don't pay him, he will have to opt out of the contract next year.
 
I think George is just worrying about getting the maximum amount he can get. If he waives his rights, he could see a pretty good sized pay cut. Of course, this is all assuming someone wants to resign him.

salaries don't match with that. Almost, but not quite enough. If we take on Jones and JET instead of George and Stack, it works though, but it costs us more.

Only way I see this getting done is with a 3-way (doubtful) or Dallas uses KVH (also doubtful)

No not really true, I've been thinking about why, he's making 2.4 million this year. He declined a 2 million option a year ago, Cuban gave him 2.4 this year. So he has Bird rights. Would Cuban resign this guy for anything more than 3 million? Probably not, can Cuban get an S&T done for say 3 million....means other team would want to give up a young player......no chance of that. George's best contract at this point is with another team outside Dallas via their MLE.

I'm thinking George is doing this to market himself on the floor. 2 weeks ago he wanted out...Stack and Harris go down, he's starting now, but how long does that last with Stack and Harris due back after the break.....he's getting bad advice, I think in the worst case, cuban's going to cut him on March 3.

I can guess at about five possible reasons, but as I've never spoken to him or have any inside knowledge of what is going on inside his head, I'd rather not speculate. However, let me just mention that for the past several years, he has openly pined for an athletic big man who can finish; now he has THREE--so I suspect that the state of the Nets' front court is not the issue. Regardless of the reason or reasons, though, he is demonstrating what we knew all along: that he has little or no leadership skills.
