Trump is indicted for the FOURTH time in Georgia for attempting to overturn the 2020 election: 13 felony charges including RICO, conspiracy to commit forgery and filing false documents
  • Donald Trump has been indicted by a grand jury in Fulton County, Georgia, on charges related to interference in the 2020 election
  • The indictment charges Trump and 18 others - among them Rudy Giuliani, his former personal lawyer, and Mark Meadows, his chief of staff
  • Trump facing three indictments: one, on federal charges relating to election interference; another for classified documents, and one for hush money

Donald Trump has been indicted in Fulton County, Georgia, for his alleged roles in trying to overturn the 2020 election in the state - a key battleground that helped Joe Biden secure the presidency.

Fani Willis, the district attorney for Fulton County, Georgia, secured the 41-count indictment from a grand jury on Monday.

Trump was charged along with 18 others - Rudy Giuliani, John Eastman, Mark Meadows, Ken Cheseboro, Jeffrey Clark, Jenna Ellis, Ray Smith III, Robert Cheeley, Michael Roman, David Shafer, Shawn Still, Stephen Lee, Harrison Floyd, Trevian Kutti, Sidney Powell, Cathleen Latham, Scott Hall and Misty Hampton.

There are also 30 unindicted co-conspirators.

Trump was charged with RICO - Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations; solicitation of violation of oath by a public officer; conspiracy to commit forgery in the first-degree; perjury; and a host of other counts.

All 19 were charged with 'violation of the RICO' act - usually used to charge a group of people and a ring leader.

The law was originally intended to charge mafias and gangs and is a federal law, but Georgia has additional racketeering statutes that can - and have - been used against figures outside of mob bosses or typical criminal enterprises.

Willis has said she likes the RICO statute because it allows prosecutors to paint a more complete picture of the alleged illegal activity.

'Defendant Donald John Trump lost the United States presidential election held on November 3,2020,' the indictment states.

'One of the states he lost was Georgia.

'Trump and the other Defendants charged in this Indictment refused to accept that Trump lost, and they knowingly and willfully joined a conspiracy to unlawfully change the outcome of the election in favor of Trump.

'That conspiracy contained a common plan and purpose to commit two or more acts of racketeering activity in Fulton County, Georgia ,elsewhere in the State of Georgia, and in other states.'

Trump's campaign on Monday night raged against 'bogus charges' and a 'legal double-standard,' after a grand jury in Georgia voted to hand down ten indictments in the case of election interference.

Trump already faces prosecution in Manhattan on state charges of campaign finance violations in connection with hush money payments made to porn star Stormy Daniels.

He also faces federal cases with one in relation to the handling of classified documents and the other over alleged interference in the 2020 election.

I was reading about this today and the author claimed if Trump were to win the election he could not pardon himself from the Georgia case as the State courts don't allow that in Georgia.

More precisely: Presidents can't pardon any state crimes in any state. In addition, the governor of Georgia has no power to pardon anyone. There's a committee in Georgia that considers state pardons. It's unclear to me who's on that committee, and whether they are in the tank for Trump.

So I’ll ask again, what does this mean? When does this guy go to jail?

From the tea leaves, it means several things the other indictments dont carry:

He can be held for bail unless the defendant (trump) can prove he wont tamper the witnesses, judge, etc. Considering that 12 hours before it he had tried to intimidate a witness, this has the highest possibility of actually putting him in jail until his trial date. Interestingly enough, he has cried about a two-tiered system. It'd be awfully interesting if he were able to skirt this despite the mountain of evidence showing he cant keep his mouth shut.

These are unpardoned charges. Meaning he cant ask for a pardon, pretty much.

Its yet another mountain of charges he would have to be proven innocent on. (I believe he's up to 92 charges, if I read correctly)

This one out of all of them is the one that could fuck him up the most. Theres a mandatory minimum sentence (meaning he cant be let out on probation, etc) of 5 years for the RICO charges.

He is going to be getting his mugshot and height/weight reported (Which for his ego will kill him lol).

This one will be on national TV.

This is also the one where they have the video call of the "Find me 11,000 votes". Meaning, they already have him on tape doing one of the crimes they just indicted him on.

As they say, this hits different, and this is the one people have been waiting for more than any other one, because of the wide scope and evidence that already shows the crimes.

Strenuus is incorrect on one thing in his excellent post. Trump does not have to be proven innocent. In US justice system the state has burden of proof. They have to prove him guilty.

Of course when he shouts his crimes from the rooftop it isn't hard. He can only hope for hung jury by getting at least one cultist.

Ironically, Republicans are in several states trying to do away with requirement of unanimous jury verdict.

White supremacist Nick Fuentes called Fani Willis an "immigrant bitch" who dared go after "the king of America" (ever hear of American Revolution, Nicky?) Told her to "go back to Jamaica".

Willis was born in California. Probably worse than Jamaica.

Fulton County Sheriff Pat Labat stated he expects to process Trump like any other indicted person. That means along with fingerprinting and being read his rights, his mugshot and actual height and weight will all be publicly available on line

You right. Good catch! It is on the state. Luckily trump helped them out lol

First I think Trump should lose all presidential perks and have no secret service protection for the rest of his life. Be banned from political office in the US and serve a life sentence without the possibility of parole. His golf clubs should become tent cities for the homeless and the campaign funds he pilfered should be used to help the homeless and process immigration cases at the border. He should have to suffer sanctions and financial losses of money and property just like Putin did around the world.

Like I said earlier, my wish is for him to end up penniless after lawyers' fees have bankrupted him...and for him to share a cell with a big ole Georgia boy named Bubba who will make a playground out of Trump's ass.

Hope it prevents him from continuing to run.
He's toast....he may have skated before but not anymore...
It's time this country hold those in politics accountable for crimes.
And its especially time for term limits for congress and SCJ's.
And I'm not opposed to an age limit for head cheese. 7o seems like a reasonable age limit.
Any party that puts a non competent president in office should lose house and senate seats. Have a bi partisan private citizens arbitration committee to do the judging.

Trump announced that a very thorough investigation proved the 2020 election was rigged and stolen. He will present details at an upcoming press conference. At which time he will also present his health care plan, his infrastructure plan, his tax returns and Barack Obama's birth certificate.

1. I wholeheartedly agree...but the sad thing is that most all politicians are "dirty".

2. Thank you, Sir...I've been harping on this for years.

3. I'm all for that too.

You're just trying to cheer me up, right? :bgrin:

Well, he cant be in gen pop. He will be "comfortable" by prison standards but you take away his voice and he will be uncomfortable. He's only happy when hes martyring for money, and the most expensive thing in commissary wont satisfy him. He's fucked, and deserves to die in prison. Will he ever see prison? God, I really hope so. But if he doesnt, it'd be the very thing he's railing against now, ironically.

Anyone else find it funny that he bitched about how it took 2.5 years for them to get here, and then magically in a week JUST AFTER he got indicted he is just gonna have this complete complex thing done. like, I know his followers are stupid but holy shit.

Ruby Freeman deserves some justice. Her gofundme is almost over $300k, but I'm sure she would like to see the courts deal with these assholes too.

Or that he peddled conspiracy theories and is going to go down on conspiracy.

It won't

The polls say otherwise. Don't underestimate just how many people continue to believe him despite all evidence to the contrary.

I should be happy about this but instead I'm just depressed because it never seems to even make a dent. I still think he's more likely to win the presidency again rather than actually spend time in jail.
