Yes, I know, we have a bunch of young guards. But Albicy won Defensive Player of the Year in the French League. He was starting PG of the team that finished top of the league. He was defensive player of the year. He was MVP of the 2010 World U-20 Championships (France won Gold). He's "the player to watch in Basketball right now".

Downside: he's short (like Isaiah Thomas short) but not athletic. Not a great scorer.
Upside: great at two things we lack at the PG spot: actually being a PG (he's pass first) and defense. Plus, he's Nic's buddy!

If he wasn't a gunner, like all our other guards, yes. Albicy does things the others don't, doesn't shoot much, and yet STILL draws fouls.

Plus, he isn't tied to a contract in Europe yet.

Neither is Albicy. As I made clear in the first post in this thread.

Oh, and don't forget this little nugget about Holloway:

There are certain things you just can't say. Tu Holloway didn't realize that during his senior season.

Under no circumstances do you say the following after a disgusting on-court brawl with your rivals:

We got disrespected a little bit before the game. Guys calling us out, we're grown men over here, we've got a whole bunch of gangsters in the locker room. Not thugs, but tough guys on the court.

Good, true. Athletic? Probably not true. The French League is one of the more athletic in the world. And there are a ton of athletes in college who can't make it in the NBA, yet go to Europe. James "Flight" White, for one. A lot of the PGs in France are American.

First you've got to show me your MVP from the Euro U20 championships and your defensive player of the year from the French league.

And then I'll need a downpayment of a few Gs before I go speak to my buddy Stern.

Tony Parker. Brandon Jennings. Ricky Rubio. Just three PGs who had an easier time scoring when they got to the NBA. But don't let that dent your assumptions.

Rubio and Jennings are not even close to being on Parker's level. Rubio was actually very inefficient in how he got his points (47% TS), and before his injury, teams were daring him to shoot, and his play noticeably suffered for it. Jennings has a better PER, but it's inflated by his high usage rate, and his career high TS was 51% last season.

That said, I wouldn't be opposed to bringing this guy over, but I think a veteran PG is more of a concern with Lils being the PGotF.
