here's a young PG with some experience I like. This morning's hoopshype update says OKC may be shopping him.

Like Barea of the Mavericks, he was a fairly consistent piece on a good team. I always checked his stats after Okie games because in limited minutes, he sometimes led the team in efficiency per minute and was usually one of the leading ones. A hidden gem.

I pushed for Darren Collison when he was out of favor, Nate would like Maynor in that he really takes care of the ball. Very much worth a shot IMO if reasonable and he has very good experience and just turned 24 a few days ago.

I think he's a great backup ... and probably an adequate starter, but what in the hell do we have to offer the Durants?

I don't believe that OKC wants to get rid of him, unless it's because he embarrassed Westbrook by outplaying him in the playoffs. Or maybe it's his new tattoo. Or his evident love of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

He's 24 and hasn't cracked a 12 PER either year in the NBA.

I'd prefer Bayless, who is over a year younger, a better offensive player and (IMO) a better defensive player.

Ed O.

Preaching to the choir.

The Blazers still don't have a legitimate back-up PG, and are yet to pick up Miller's option.

Something is going to happen at the PG position tomorrow night. The Blazers need to either replace Miller or draft a decent young PG, and then get that player at the very least some film, a playbook, and a sitdown with the coaches prior to the lockout. Even better if the new PG could then get together with some other Blazer players over the lockout to get familiar with them.

As for Maynor, I don't see why OKC would want to trade now, let alone to a division rival.

Maynor's a much better defender and playmaker.

Very slightly better play-maker. He has a 30% Assist Rate versus Bayless' 28%.

I don't think he has a significant edge defensively.

I do. Coming out of college that was his calling card to get drafted. In a league where everybody loves offense, he's a solid defender. He just doesnt get praised for it. His on-ball defense is money.

Zags knows, because he's the only one who has ever watched Maynor play.

Maynor can ball. I was teaching people about that back then.

Whoever wrote Post #9 was happy the next day, when we got Felton.

How did I miss this thread? Maynor was an offensive playmaker in college, and defense was NOT one of his calling cards. In fact, here's his DX profile:

Some Weaknesses:

WEAKNESSES:
- Out of control at times
- Ability to defend position at next level?
- Commitment to playing defense
- Defensive fundamentals
- Lateral quickness

Mick said that Maynor's a good defender, but doesn't get praised for it. You presented a site where Maynor doesn't get praised for it. You confirmed what he said. Were you trying to disagree?

I think mods need to take a serious stand against bumping threads.

Yes. It's hard to say that it's his "calling card" when draft experts say just the opposite. They didn't just omit his defensive capabilities, they bashed him for his lack of them.

Brian, quit being brainwashed by draft websites and watch games.

I love these forums:
Using highly inappropriate FUCKING Language, OK.
Making repeated Sexual comments about a poster's wife, No problem.
Bumping Threads, Completely Unacceptable.

In this weird world, I'm afraid it is I who Know Nothing!
